If there was a comic book hall of fame, who should be in it?

I'll start by saying it's obvious Stan Lee and Jack Kirby should be in, if and when there's ever a comic book hall of fame. Will Eisner also comes to mind. Also, I think a few retailers could belong in. Some of those early retailers helped build comic fandom and organize the hobby.

Bob Overstreet also did a lot for the hobby...

This is an awesome idea for a discussion.

I think the following should be in it
Chris Claremont
Jim Lee
Todd McFarlane
Joe Quesada
Andy Kubert
John Romita
Jim Starlin

I'm sure I'm leaving many many people out

Bruce Hamilton, who founded Gladstone, was a pioneer dealer going back at least to the sixties. I would vote for him.

Sports Halls have the occasional broadcaster, umpire, pioneer and the like, so I think a retailer, promoter, or such could be worked into the Comic Book Hall Of Fame as well as creators.

The only guy I can think of, beyond Mike Richardson who started out as the owner of an LCS, is Chuck Rozanski. Say what you will, but the guy is a legendary if polarizing figure.

Chuck is the man. I see him at HeroesCon every year and he's a hoot to talk to. I love his long winded emails every week too, but I'm aware that I am in the minority in that respect.

I also love his emails, and read every single one of his Tales From The Database. He's done an awful lot for the hobby.

I have to say Jim Shooter has quite an impressive resume. He was perhaps the youngest comic book creator ever pubished at a major comic book publisher, and of course went on to have a strong stint as EIC at Marvel and was the creative genius behind early VALIANT.
He's still adding to that resume, too.

I have to agree. While MHC might overcharge on items and does not always have things in stock or in quite the condition one might want, the man himself has done a lot more good than bad, I think.
