Ethan Van Sciver!New Inkwell Ambassador!New Hall of Fame

Post by tschloendorn »

Artist Ethan Van Sciver (New X-Men, Green Lantern, Sinestro Corps War, Flash: Rebirth) has agreed to join the ranks of DC editor Mike Marts and artist Adam Hughes as ambassador for the Inkwell Awards, showing his public support to the organization mission to inform about the craft of inking and to show recognition for it's ink artists. "Ethan has been a rising star for a few years now thanks to his talent and super-meticulous detail work but through it all he has clearly retained a respect and appreciation for the artists and craft of inking" Bob Almond said. His info will soon be added to the website.

Also, in an all-new website feature, the Inkwell Awards proudly presents the INKWELL HALL OF FAME. This section of the site will lead to testimonials on all of the Inkwell Joe Sinnott/Hall Of Fame award winners and each new member of the Hall of Fame will be granted a page of their own, with art and comments from some of the giants of the comic book industry. At present these pages include Joe Sinnott, recipient of the year one award and the award namesake, and Dick Giordano and Terry Austin, the co-winners of year two. While not a HoF winner, a separate member emeritus Dave Simons page is in production for the deceased member and veteran artist which will include info regarding the scholarship set up in his name for the Joe Kubert School of Cartoon & Graphic Art.

The Inkwell Awards (http://www.inkwellawards.com) is a non-profit charity organization whose mission is to inform about the often-misunderstood craft of comic book inking and annually recognize and award the ink artists and their work. Now entering their third year, the organization is overseen by a number of industry professionals such as founder & director Bob Almond, Daniel Best, Jimmy Tournas, Bob Shaw, Nathan Massengill and fully-supported by ambassadors DC editor Mike Marts and artist Adam Hughes, all of whom make up the Inkwell Awards committee. They sponsor the Dave Simons Inkwell Memorial Scholarship Fund for the Joe Kubert School of Cartoon & Graphic Art and host the Joe Sinnott Hall of Fame Award.
