What is this i hear ?
Always nice to think that VEI are actually getting it together instead of lawsuits and such other non publishing distractions.
So when i read MOTA's status update on facebook which says
"As work for hire, I have reinterpreted the characters from Chainsaw for VALIANT Entertainment Inc. for inclusion in their Bloodshot series"
and
"From VH 2. http://wiki.valiantentertainment.com/in ... e_Chainsaw"
I was like
Can it be true?
Mike said he is looking forward to see what they will do with it, but hey if they are paying anyone anything to do anything, it really is the 1st positive thing i have heard since, well i cant remember its been so long.

I know that there is much VEI bashing of late..... but I fully expect that they are working toward putting out comics.
The entire Shooter debacle was tragic, but it undeniably showed that they were working towards monthlies.
I for sure thinkthat Bloodshot should have a major role in a re-launch.
(Harbingers/kids, Toyo, Darque, Aric, Gilad, Aram, Archer, and ........ and a Shadowman.)

Yeah, he has mentioned that he signed an NDA. I can't see how that isn't in violation.TKWill wrote:I'm surprised he leaked it in such a manner. I would think that as hush-hush as VEI has been about any news getting out that this wouldn't violate his NDA in some manner. Unless they're going for some sort of grass roots advertising movement.
I don't think this is any grassroots kind of thing.

I'm glad MOTA isn't getting sued, but then that's a great move by VEI then...... To talk about some crap-*SQUEE* VH2 characters being worked on and not to mention things like Shooter being hired.
Makes perfect sense in a backwards way.
No, VEI can't win by me........ until they put out some product. I'm well into *SQUEE* or get off the pot mode.

No kidding. Nothing against MOTA but why would you hide the hiring of the man that would have legitimized their presence in the industry but be okay with releasing a hint that their are monthly books coming on a random employees FB. Again nothing against MOTA but their is a place for this information to be released and I would think it might be on the message boards that are directly linked through VEI's website under the "community" section and hosted on their servers. What a load, I'm all for VEI being successful but their "viral marketing" leaves much to be desired.400yrs wrote:I'm glad MOTA isn't getting sued, but then that's a great move by VEI then...... I don't think MOTA is a VEI employee, but he is doing some work for them because of his extensive familiarity with the characters. I am sure he will correct me if I am wrong.TKWill wrote:No kidding. I believe Michael is aspiring to be a writer of comics and is looking for work in the industry and his posting on FB is showing part of his work experience, much like on a resume. I wish him luck and hope some company gives him a shot.
As far as "viral marketing" I think you're opinion is way off base. They really haven't done any public marketing at all and have said on more than one occasion that they will make official announcements when they are ready to announce a EIC, titles, writers, artists, and publishing dates.
Also, they hid nothing about Shooter, or for that matter that Jemas has been there even longer. They just didn't make an announcement. The fans may have not known that Shooter and Jemas were involved at VEI but I can assure you the industry did, and they knew at the Javitz show in Feb of 2009. I don't think you would have ever seen an "official" announcement about Jemas as his roll is not "active" in the day to day operations of their company to my knowledge, but I think if things had panned out as VEI had planned they would have had the Gold Key rights and Shooter moving into last fall and there would have been the big announcement you are looking for by now.

That's BS. If the "Industry" knew about Shooter or Jemas working for VEI that would have been major news and would have been on every major comic book news website along with every major comic book publication.wrunow wrote:Also, they hid nothing about Shooter, or for that matter that Jemas has been there even longer. I can see VEI keeping quiet. But not the "Industry".

I don't agree, Jemas was outed a couple of weeks ago and there is no mass hysteria in the comic industry, and by todays standards he is a much bigger hitter than Shooter. I think JS is a brilliant writer and editor, but his relavancy in 2010 is not what it was in 1992.hobosleftnut wrote:That's BS. I am though, very much looking forward to reading his new stories at Dark Horse, I hope they're good, although reaching the level of Pre Unity VALIANT is maybe too high an expectation.

Chainsaw? That was Bloodshot V2 issue 3 (and last panel of issue 2). They're the ones who messed him up so that he needed to use a cat for rebuilding material.Draco wrote:a *Acclaim (1997 series)* book IIRCPhantom.. wrote:Anyone recall?myron wrote:caxiotis wrote:uhhhhhh.........which book was this in?
