There's a Dark Horse/Gold Key Voting Poll running on the Previewsworld.com site right now:

http://previewsworld.com/public/default ... &c=6&s=428

Which Gold Key relaunch title from Dark Horse and Jim Shooter are you most anticipating?

- Turok
- Doctor Solar
- Magnus
- Mighty Samson
- I'll try 'em all

All of them for me.

I expected (wrongly as it tuns out) that Dr Solar would lead the way individually, when it appears tha Magnus is the most eagerly anticipated individual title according to the (limited) survey.

Although I'm one of the ones who wants Magnus the most, I expected to see it be Solar, too.

In truth, though, as the days progress, I'm leaning more toward Mighty Samson... because I trust Jim so implicitly with the three I know and I know next to nothing about Mighty Samson.

From looking at the old covers, Mighty Samson looks like a cool read... especially with every issue having a giant creature per cover:

(painted covers on the new books would be great too.) 8-)

I hope Turok returns to his roots and is less like the video game version, but I trust Shooter will make all these titles worthwhile.

I enjoyed the original GK premise for Turok, but I also liked the Acclaim version. I thought it was very interesting and gave the title new ground to explore and a lot of possibilities. I did not like the four issue start of the series, but the later one shots were very well done.

It's interesting to see the Diamond poll with more general fans than VALIANT fans possibly voting, and how the results are different than the poll ran here. :hm:

I'll be honest...I am really looking forward to how Samson will be developed.

I know nothing of Samson, so any REBOOT will not effect me. I will try it, of course...

Never read the Acclaim version. I pretty much lost interest in the title when Andar was killed off in the Valiant version, so I hope any future version restores that character.

I got bored with the Valiant version of Turok after a handful of issues. I'm sure whatever Shooter comes up with it, the premise will be much more interesting than what Valiant did with the character.

I just bought a nigh-complete run of Mighty Samson (missing three issues, already lined up one of the three missing ones from another source). I find myself surprisingly geeked out about this specifically because I know so little about it.

It is interesting that Dark Horse has this for a November release:

BARRY WINDSOR SMITH CONAN ARCHIVES HC VOL 01

Could Barry be re-uniting with Jim as well?

I'll bet a hunnert bucks the answer's no. I was at a Con where both BWS and Shooter were appearing. We tried like hell to get a photo taken of the 2 of them in the same frame. BWS was having NOTHING to do with it.

JayJay was also at the same Con, so I got my A&O HC signed in person by her, Shooter and BWS. So it wasn't all bad....

As awesome as that would be , I don't think it will happen. Some of the DH hardcover re-releases just seem to artist specific runs. Nice timing though.

:D

And a good lesson for those board members who get excited about their own (VERY biased) "business proposals."
