Comic's Greatest World "creative talent" list

Post by xodacia81 »

The title of this thread might be a bit confusing, but here is the premise-and I'm not sure if it should be in this forum or the other one, so Knightt, DJ, Greg, please figure it out. I am intending to give a full list of all the talent, book by book, issue by issue, of who did what on each one. This means that you will get everything from the writer and penciler to the logo designer, colorist and editor. As I said in another thread, I think this could be fun and usefull info. So, here goes. As a note, the items following issue #'s are the titles (a rare few have no title) and, where the creative team was the same for several straight issues, the titles are listed from left to right in the order matching the issue. As an example, if issues 2-4 of a title are all the same, then the title for 2 will be followed by 3 and then 4. Hope that helps and let me know if it's not clear.

Thanks much. I actually have rather enjoyed the "research" and I agree about adding it for every DU. Maybe I can do the same thing for Defiant & Broadway  By the way, Ghost Volume 2 is now finished

Thanks guys. Oh, and guess what? While I took a break from THIS research, the last few hours, I was doing...further and final research on yet another project. Now, I'm off to do Ghost, volume 1 and get Broadway/Defiant started. I am a glutton for this stuff, aren't I?

Oh, yeah...and a question. Would anyone be interested in issue titles?

THAT is a lot of work but I can see the advantage when trying to find a story arc or something like that. :hm:

I dunno man, that has to be your call, if you are willing to do it... one thing though, once we start it on this one, well... I am a stickler on uniformity so we would need to do it for the rest. But again, when building this wheel, we could have THE BEST wheel out there and a HUGE resource to DU collectors everywhere.

PLEASE backup all of your current work. Maybe even send me a copy or somebody, so that you have off site storage.

Updated. Issue titles now added to all but volumes 1 & 2 of Ghost. CGW & W2P do not have individual titles. The titles for the two volumes of Ghost are forthcoming. :thumb:

No worries here... this work shall not fall by the wayside. I am working on a storage place to where we can have one page with all the DUs listed and a link to their respective issue lists, coupled with the detailed information graciously provided by xodacia81.

After that my plan is that within that DUs specific link, you will find the issue list, then an ORIGINAL scan of the cover and under that the detailed information.

Does this sound like something that would be useful to you and others are our little fanclub grows ?

You may have to go down two or three levels but we WILL get the info stored AND duplicated in an offsite storage facility.

What do you guys think ?

I'm all for it, since I think that a cover gallery would be VERY nice. When you say go down 2 or 3 levels, are you talking about the quality of the cover scans or the level of details for the info? Also, thanks for the shoutout. This was a labor of love, in particular the CGW work. I really think that, aside from the Shooter created uni's, CGW, of the dozens of uni's that came out in the 90's, was the strongest in terms of central creative theme/story and the one I found both most compelling and most deserving of continued life. I would LOVE to see it relaunched one day, but I don't think it will ever happen.

No, I mean going deeper into layers of a thread. Have one thread with a list of all the DUs, then links within each universe listed which would then lead you to scans and creation crew details (writer, artists, inker etc). Just like Greg's 'See the Comics' section.

That is going to take some space though...
