Not sure If I understand what you are saying but is it what I was thinking about: using the black backround with Title and putting the color pic of Phil ontop?

Yes! Except layering in the B&W Phil, as well as "Negative" Phil...

How about this? The title needs a little more work, but if you like it, I can continue to refine it until it looks crisper.

I threw in the radioactive logo to kind of link it to the original trade black cover. It gives the image more depth. I also threw in a couple lens flares around his eyes.

You Read My Mind with the Atom Logo!

It looks Great Man, How About using the Old Logo tho and then Putting:

Using the Fonts From The Early Books and also Putting the "Alpha & Omega" Title with Original Font [you can super-impose this as well] at the bottom center. That would tie it all up as far as everything I was going to do with it.
