Not mine but suprisingly cheap. Weren't these going for 10x that price a few months ago?

I have two in nice shape. Send me a PM if interested.DawgPhan wrote:speaking of this book...anyone got a Harbinger #1 w/o c that they want to sell...I would prefer a nice looking copy but just without the coupon. Just need one for my set not my ego.
I have a Qualified NM Magnus #0 from the "It's not my fault it's bent in half" collection.

Hmmm... $27.00 plus $5.60 for shipping is a bargain?dino wrote:the book still ended at a bargin. With that overstreet mention harby 1 will take off.
Where did they say the book is in NM condition?
Where did they even mention that the book is VF condition?
The scan isn't large enough to find creases, bends, spine lines, etc.
It's possible this is a fantastic copy of Harbinger #1 and I'm paranoid...
and it's also possible that the seller never mentioned the condition on purpose.
For those of you more optimistic in life, please forgive my cynicism.

I bought a ton of books from the seller off ebay and the books were all really really nice. 9.4s at the very least. $40 was the going rate a few months ago and I figure with that CGC quote, one that was pretty jaw dropping for me, that Harbinger #1 will see another price hike soon. Plus it's always been the book that was most likely to be demanded by non valiant collectors. just my opinion though.greg wrote:Hmmm... $27.00 plus $5.60 for shipping is a bargain?dino wrote:the book still ended at a bargin. That's good news, then.
In general, a seller with 500+ feedback should know that condition matters...
stating only that a comic book is "complete" implies that the book
is at least Good (2.0) condition.
Geez, I would hope that a book from 1992 is in 2.0+ condition.
Sellers are not receiving "top dollar" for these types of auctions
simply because the various potential buyers don't know what to think.
Since Dino has bought from him in tha past, that's good for Dino...
but it doesn't mean squat to me as a potential bidder looking at this auction.
I wouldn't be one bit surprised to hear a similar horror story of buying
a book described as complete, and receiving a book about 5.0 condition.
If this book is 9.4 or better, that's fantastic... but also very lucky.
Comic book sellers should know better than small scans and no description of condition.
95% of the time they do that... something's wrong.
Congrats to wrunow on the possibility of getting a good one.
But I guess what I'm saying is... I think this was a better deal:

No questions... no worries... heck, no out-of-pocket grading fees!
It's already 'slabbed' and ready to go. Beats risking $32 on 9.2 or lower.
9.4 isn't very tough on most Valiant books, even the pre-Unity issues...
but with Harbinger #1... it seems like a "guarantee" of 9.4 is worth it.
