CROSSGEN CHAT

Post by Phantom »

Hi all, got into crossgen big time, love the tpb's. Putting off ultraverse to persue this big time. Defiant on hold aswell.

I know the trades go past what is listed under crossgen ~ another company has contunied printing trades of some titles (must of broughgt the rights) so you can get intire runs as trades.

In USA do they have the latter trades printed under a differnet company name??
sojoun is up to trade number 6 for example

I also know that crossgen trades were printed in france. (Will get more info soon as taking my sone to paris next week to see specialists.)

What is the hardest to get crossgen issue?, not interested for profit, but if I see one cheap ~ as my collection of cs has just started, could grab it.

Hey dude,
checker are the people who finished off the last of the completed story arcs, but i would love to know who they had to strike a deal with in order to get this done.

The hardest issues to get of an CG books arer the last issues of the original titles and probably sojourn # 1.

Any foreign language books are cool as far as im concerned and im up to 2 short boxes full of odds and ends so far.

Im sure a few people here might fancy a french edition CG trade.

Let us know how it goes.

I think i can fill over 75% of all standard comics bt CG for you dude.

let me know when you want them and ill sort it for you.

I'll say Sojourn #1 is hard to find.

I also am having a HARD time finding the last issues of both R.A. Salvatore (sp?) series. Eye for an Eye and Trial by Fire.

And then for sure the black and white previews.

I thought it was Disney that bought up the rights to the Crossgen properties, mostly so they could develop Abazadad. I wonder if Checker licensed them from Disney?

As far as i know all the last of the Tpb's are done.
I thought they had done all the stuff that was actually finished.

What series were not completed.

I know we have discussed this before elsewhere, but after a year i still cannot use the search function.

Found this:

NRAMA: One thing thing brought up by a Newsarama reader in the talkback section of our previous interview is a missing volume in Scion. Specifically, Crossgen never published Scion Vol. 5 TPB and Checker hasn't announced it is either, instead opting to jump ahead to Vol. 6. Could you clarify this?

MT: Regarding the missing volumes. The closure of Crossgen brings conflicting statements from creators, Diamond, and Disney as to what actually got printed and fully distributed at the end. We also factored in the multiple layers of Crossgen reprinting practices which resulted in some titles and issues literally flooding the market. We are planning to propose to Disney that we “catch up” by putting out omnibus collections that have issues collected in one place that compliment our new volumes for storyline completeness.

But that was from late 2007. I'll have to check and see if they've released the last tpbs

Yeah, you had sent me a PM on them back in September, since I had mentioned in this thread that I only needed two more issues:

http://www.valiantfans.com/forum/viewto ... urn#511735

One of them was #27, but go ahead and send it to Elveen. I can get the books elsewhere, no big deal.

There were smaller color digest versions of several of the first Crossgen trade paperbacks. They featured a different cover, but I believe the page count was the exact same as the regular trade even though they were physically smaller.

Exactly! If I recall correctly, there wasn't a whole lot of Traveller editions (I'm working on confirming that). I know there was Mystic vol. 1 and Sojouirn vol. 1 (as I owned these and could shoot myself for letting them go).
