My 25th Anniversary Joes

Post by Dr. Solar »

So after seeing Unblessed's Joe thread, I decided to throw up my own pics.

These are my 25th anniversary Joes:

Image

11 of the original 13 joes. From left to right: Short-Fuze, Grunt (in the jeep), Clutch (driving the jeep), Flash (on the tank), Steeler (driving the tank), Hawk (jumping off the tank), Stalker, Scarlet, Rock N Roll (on the tank), Snake Eyes, Breaker. They haven't yet released Zap or Grand Slam to my knowledge.

The other Joes:
Image

From left to right: Sgt. Bazooka, Roadblock, Crankcase (driving the AWE Striker), Duke, Gung Ho, and Tripwire.

My goal is to get the 25th anniversary versions of the first 4 years of Joes.

The Cobra Horde:
Image
Tele-Viper and Stinger Driver in trouble bubbles, 2 Airborne Cobra Troopers, Stormshadow and Major Bludd on the left, Firefly behind a Crimson Guardsmen, Destro in front of the HISS tank, a slew of Cobra Troopers and Officers, and led by Cobra Commander with his Crimson Guard legion.

I have a few other figures that are duplicates of some of the above figures, but with different paint jobs, accessories, etc.

I'd really love to start getting them, but I know it will turn into a sickness that I just cant have now.

I don't mind that they don't match. All my old joes are so beaten up and broken from being played with extensively that it is cool to get new, inexpensive joes that look even better (imo) than the originals.

I have found that if you don't have to buy carded figures, you can get them pretty cheap on the bay. I pay $2 - $4 per loose figure usually. Some highly desired figures will run more though.

:thumb: Bring back memories. I had a couple of loose Joes and vehicles from the 80's which I sold about 2 years ago. I am glad I haven't caught this bug (yet).

I'm usually good with avoiding bugs.

I got some slabs, and then sold them all. Avoided that bug.

I have some original art, I love it, but I don't need a whole lot more. Avoided that bug.

I got soem dead universe stuff, but don't really care for more. Avoided that bug.

Apparently Joes are one of my weaknesses.

The Target Exclusive Ultimate Battle Pack is now on clearance for $44.08. Just picked up two and opened one. :D

Like the Short Fuse, Stalker, Destro, HISS Driver, and Gunner sclupts. CC is a horrible sclupt and Stalker's helmet sucks.

All in all, for a 'uge set, it's a great set.. and I just ordered about 4 sets of Amazon.com...

GRRR! Collecting again. AARRGGHH!!!!

OUCH!! :(

(It's a sweeet set. 7 figures, 3 vehicles... for less than $70? it's a great deal.)

--edit--

Have:
G.I. Joe Cobra F.A.N.G. and Cobra C.L.A.W.
G.I. Joe Ram Cycle vs. Cobra Flight Pod
G.I. Joe V.A.M.P. with Double Clutch
G.I. Joe Armadillo Tank vs. Serpentor's Air Chariot

On the way. :D :thumb:

and the sickness has taken over in full force. :P

I didn’t know any were particularly rare (though that usually is case for most collector lines these days). Are these figures just short packed or variations you’re speaking of?

Focusing my efforts to this line on the original Joes of '82.

I think Supes speaks of some short packed guys and "Pimp Daddy Destro". Supes?

There are a ton of variants, a ridiculous amount actually.
Is there a site for tracking this? I usually rely on YoJoe.com, but they seem to be getting behind on these kinds of things lately.
