Bloodshot 6 VVSS origin
Excuse me if we've already discussed this. I can't seem to get the search function to work the way it used to.
Has it ever been discussed where the Bloodshot #6 VVSS were signed and how they were distributed? I ask because I saw this in an auction I had bid on (but was sniped at the last second):
Just interested in hearing if the info about it being distributed at the Capital City Sales Conference was already known, as it was new to me.

As far as I know, this is one of the authentic VVSS editions of Bloodshot #6, because it came in the Valiant mylar. This book had a mylar that was embossed on the flap with a large image of the Valiant compass, and I've only seen this mylar on this particular book.Up for bid is a copy of Bloodshot #6. This comic book was given out and personally hand signed on the cover in Red Ink by artist Don Perlin and writer Kevin Van Hook at the May 2-5 1993 Capital City Sales Conference. The only way you could get this particular book was if you were a Gold Member attendee. Story by Kevin Van Hook. Art by Don Perlin. Cover by Don Perlin. 1st appearance of Ninjak. Comic Book is complete, with no cut or missing pages. Comic Book has remained carefully stored since I received it. Comic Book is in Unread Near Perfect Near Mint condition. Comes in a clear acrylic comic book holder with the Valiant name and logo embossed on the upper middle back of holder. 1st Printing. Because or the rarity of a copy of this comic book in this condition I have placed a small reserve on this item. From Valiant Comics!

but it does not have the embossed VVSS seal
or a "standard VVSS" COA.
Some copies have a xeroxed COA (I believe there are two styles),
but a xerox isn't exactly easy to "authenticate".
It's "VVSS-related", but not a "full" VVSS book.
I don't think it was offered for sale like VVSS books were.

The part about the COA I believe is incorrect, I have never heard of the Bloodshot #6 VVSS coming with a COA.iggy101us wrote:Sorry Brother J, I am guilty of sniping it . . .

The thing with the xeroxed COA is the X-O Database VVSS
BTW, I don't mind the snipe. The $25 shipped cost was my uppermost limit, and I wasn't too worried about whether I won it.

I didn't think the Bloodshot VVSS came with a COA as well. But further down the link, Draco said he has a copy of the COA so I don't know.
Draco - Can you scan a copy of the COA?

so that mylar is different than the mylar that the other vvss's came in? I thought they all had the valiant compass on the flap...Brother J wrote:<snip>

Re: Bloodshot 6 VVSS origin
Unfortunately I don't have my copy of the Bloodshot #6 VVSS anymore, so I can't post a picture. The usual Valiant mylar have the compass and VALIANT over top of it, and they appear to be printed in white. It also feels like it was stamped on. The Bloodshot #6 VVSS mylar I had did not say VALIANT over top the compass, and the compass was molded directly into the mylar flap. I also think the compass was slightly larger.myron wrote:so that mylar is different than the mylar that the other vvss's came in? I just got the Bloodshot 6 VVSS and the mylar is definitely different than the other Valiant mylars - (1) the Valiant Logo on the back is larger and transparent, (2) the corners of the mylar are rounded compared to the other mylars with sharp corners.
See pics below - 1st pic is Valiant logo on back of Bloodshot 6 VVSS mylar, 2nd pic is rounded corner of Bloodshot 6 VVSS mylar, 3rd pic is Valiant logo on back of Psi-Lords 1 VVSS mylar, 4th pic is sharp corner of Psi-Lords 1 VVSS mylar.

Thanks for posting the pictures, that's what I was trying to describe, although I got certain details wrong (which will happen when you don't have the item in hand). That was definitely a good buy as I think copies of the Bloodshot #6 VVSS related that come in the "special" mylar should be worth a slight premium. The "special" mylar proves it was part of the original giveaway and not a copy that was signed later by Van Hook and Perlin.
