Which books of the valiant titles would you say are the must haves?
Harby 1-7, solar 10, etc. I know a lot of the books after unity were printed in x-force #1 type numbers. I thought I would get some opinions from the group here.

Since you brought up print run numbers, are you looking for a good read, or a good investment value? Example: the last issues of V1 might be a good investment value, but are all mostly crappy stories.

Either way you look at it, your question has been a topic before. Take some time to review past posts. There is a ton of info here!! Use the search engine. Hope this answer helps!---Steve G

The early stuff has the advantage of relatively low print runs and great reading. Can't go wrong with pre-Unity, and you can get the trades cheap.

For must-haves, it's everything before Unity. I think there are 100 or so.

Of course, for most of us here "must-have" means everything Valiant ever put out!

As others have already stated, the must have books are the pre-unity and final issues of each series. Anything that came out post unity are pretty much garbage printed in huge quantities that you can't even give to people. Get them pre-unities while they're still affordable. Who knows, since Acclaim is going bankrupt, they might put the properties on the auction block. :thumb:

I would also add Archer & Armstrong #0 Gold. It is the only per-unity gold book and is a little harder to get in higher grades.

the solar alpha and omega trade. its not really rare or anything so everyone can get it. and you just wouldent have a valiant collection without it.
one of the best stories( if not the) for valiant, and some of barry winsor smith's best art for valiant. :atomic:

Actually, it's only 50... so your pocketbook isn't in as much trouble.

you should really clarify your questin a bit...all of the trades-if you want great reading material...all of pre-unity if you want great reads and great "history"...harbinger 1, unity red and solar 1-10 if you want great landmarks/investment/great reading...you want the unity issues too for great reading, and the dark horse crossovers...if you want to make money on them then you need the VVSS and gold issues plus the final ones...you see the question is too open ended...

and the x-o bicycle MUST be included in there as well, only i'm not sure exactly why...

of course you might want all the first appearances...the best covers...

i think i'll go ahead and stop now.
