Question for all about Shooter & Unity 2000

Post by Fanboy375 »

I spoke with Jim Shooter today and he said that he could write Unity 2000, Issue #6 for a fee. However, he has also said that we could have a fan write dialogue for it if we wanted to save money.

Since you all will be buying the book, who would you prefer to see write it?
The cost of issue #6 would be much greater than the other books or it would cause all three (3) books to be more expense.

Please vote and write your responses here.

Thanks,

Jonathan

so what was his price? thats the real question, and what about issues 4 and 5, would he do a package deal for issues 4-6, then at that point could they be printed by Dino or would that be a larger fee?

So when you say write, you mean a new story apossed to the original? Or did he never write issue 6 yet?

Yeah... some more details please. My initial response is Shooter all the way. But, it really depends on how much more it will make the comic, who that "fan" would be if he didn't, and if it would be a new (hopefully better) take on the story or if it'd just be what we already have. In which case, what would be the point?

Oh... so conflicted....!

On a side note, this is a real good problem to have. :thumb:

I would say go with Jim Shooter.

This is one of those "if not now, never" kind of situations. All this work is going into this project, you might as well have Shooter involved to round it out. It would just make the project that much more unique.

Im all about Shooter!

Questions, questions, questions:

IF we have Shooter write this do you think it will increase the chances of writing MORE for VEI?

IF Shooter writes this, who owns the RIGHTS to it?

If BOH writes it, who owns the RIGHTS to it?

If Shooter writes it, will he be able to tie this into the eventual ongoing VEI comics????

If BOH wrote it for FREE, then it would bea truly Fan Finished comic.

Absolutely COOL problem to have. I dont think this board has the ability to answer the question of WHO should write it though..
If Shooter writes it and it ties into the new VEI books then it will SKYROCKET in value. If we all put money into this possible venture, would we get extra copies.. what a crazy fun mess this could be? Dont ask, dont tell.. just get me 3 copies :thumb:

My advise is that you spread out the cost across the three issues, not put it all on just one.

unity 2000 was such a crap fest, why would you want shooter to finish the dismantling of the universe? Do you think he would try and undo what was done in the first 3 issues? :?

Issue 4 and 5 are written and have the dialogue for them.

Issue 6 has a script but no dialogue.

All of the art has been completed.

Basically it would be Jim finishing the dialogue for what he already wrote.

Just beacuse we are finishing it, does not mean that it is Canon by any means. We are simply finishing a story that was written but never pubished.
