Defiant: How Hard Are These To Find?

Comic universes no longer active, Bravura, Continuity, CrossGen, Future, Malibu, Ultraverse... and others that are 'no longer with us' today (or only recently brought back).

Defiant: How Hard Are These To Find?

Post by ManofTheAtom »

I'm looking to complete my Defiant collection in San Diego. Does anyone have any idea how hard these might be to find?

Dark Dominion 0
Glory 0
Good Guys 1.5
Prudence and Caution (English) 1
Splatterball 1
Warriors of Plasm 0
Birth of Defiant Universe 1

Well Glory #0 is not all one book. It is broken up in certain Overstreet magazines. I believe the Origin of the Defiant Universe is one the rarer ones. Which one of the Plasm #0 are you looking for? :thumb:

Ideally the comic book one, not the trading cards.

How many of those comics in the list are trading cards and how many are real comics?

There is no Dark Dominion #0 in comic book form, it's the card set or nothing. 1st Among Equals already told you about Glory #0. Good Guys 1.5 is similiar to Glory 0 in that it was in copies of Previews. Splatterball can sometimes be found separated from the binders if someone separated them, but usually you have to buy the binder to get one. Warriors of Plasm #0 was also a Previews insert, but they show up often removed from the book. Birth of Defiant Universe is a rare one, only 1000 copies.

The only easy book on your list is Prudence and Caution #1 (English). That's a bargain bin book. The Spanish language versions of Prudence and Caution #1 and #2 are the hard to find ones.

Brother J beat me to the punch, but yeah that's pretty much it.

I bought a copy of The Birth of the Defiant Universe off eBay for $50
and that is the average price is roughly around $50-$75.

Dark Dominion #0 is only available to read as a trading card set and binder if you want to read it then you have get it that way.

Spatterball is also reprinted in The Warriors of Plasm TPB.

Last year I found a guy at the con that had complete runs, but I only got one or two comics from him that I needed because I had all the others on order from Comicastle and didn't know what they were going to send and what they were going to be short on.

When I came back and received the package, it had PC #1 in Spanish and 2 in english. Hopefully I'll find the same guy this year and he'll have whatever I'm missing that it's conceivable for him to have.

It does sound, however, like some of those stories might be impossible to get.

What really sucks is that I have that issue of Previews that came with Warriors of Plasm #0, but it didn't have the comic in it :(

For years I saw that trade at the LCS and never bothered to open it. I may just have to go see if they still have it.

You get Warriors of Plasm #0-4 and the Spatterball special.
I highly recommend it. :thumb:

Warriors of Plasm #0 was released as a standard comic bound in an
issue of Previews they pop up on eBay ever so often.

I have thought about doing that with Dark Dominion #0 IF I ever get a scanner but the problem is that some of the cards don't line up very well and I'm not sure I could get all my cards out of the binder and
with the plastic cover might screw up the quailty. Of course I can't do any of this because I don't have a printer and scanner...yet.

I just did a quick search, and you can find the entire Warriors of Plasm run on Amazon.com. Tradpaperbacks and individual issues.

Really? Cool. I sold my entire Defiant run except WoP and the TPBs.

I'm surprised that you can get the TPBs on Amazon.
