Found a decent quantity of Plasm Binders...UPDATE 6/01/08

Post by cinlach@aol.com »

Kicking around a store here in town and headed down into their "dollar basement" and found about 10 to 15 of each of the two Plasm binders all sealed up and essentially brand new.

The series one binder was $5, and the series two was $3.

I bought the series two binder erroneously thinking it had all the cards in it too...alas, it does not, so now I'm going to have to grab a set of cards to go in it.

So anyway...if anyone's looking the these binders I can snag them on the cheap.

send me your addresses and all that...i'll try to get back out there the first of next week.

all i'll need is for you to paypal me the shipping and the money to buy them which will be exact...i'm not looking to make anything here.

or maybe if you've got an extra set of cards i could trade you a binder mailed for a set...lol

whichever, i'm perfectly fine with buying them and mailing them out.

glad i could help!

I'm interested in one of each, and just happen to have two boxes of cards incoming which I was getting to enjoy the opening of and hopefully getting some chases I need. I am fairly certain I can throw a set together for you.

How many roughly did they have dude?

You mentioned that the second edition was not complete, if so in what way incomplete.

Knightt's Card list is quite impressive so can you compare whats in the second edition to whats listed in the Defiant checklist section?

cheers

the binder i got is full of pages for the cards, has a splatterball comic thingie in it, along with one chase/promo card.

i assumed they had the cards in them...i forgot that the cards were separate from the binders.

the dollar basement, which was the 4 for a dollar basement for FCBD, is actually inaccessible from the main store.

so he has to have someone down there alone all day when it's open, so it's not something that i can just "pop in to" to pick the stuff up.

there's about 30 to 50 long boxes of stuff down there, so it's a goodly amount of books, but due to scheduling i only had time to look through about 3 boxes.

there were also statues and action figures, but i didn't really look at them when i was there.

i'll try and get a little better recon of the place when i'm there next.

Love the back cover on that, so much detail similar to a George Perez Cover :thumb:

the "dollar basement" of this store is only open on the last saturday of the month...depending on weather.

so it'll be a few days before i can get over there and pick them up.

i'm actually toying with just buying them all, maybe i can get a discount and then put the unwanted ones on the 'bay.

I'd love to get a shot at one of the second editions if you pick all those up.

Long live Defiant!

Were they some sort of wholesale company that bought the leftovers from the River Group? or were they a card company?

I think they were actually some kind of discount store like K-Mart. Probably their buyers got a good price on the leftovers and thought they might be able to sell a few retail.

1997: CVS completes its acquisition of more than 2,500 stores from Revco — the largest acquisition in the history of the U.S. retail pharmacy industry. The acquisition of Revco gives CVS key drugstore locations primarily in the Midwest and Southeast.

I remember seeing a ton of Revco items popping up at Big Lots back then also.

Is "Revco" connected to "Big Lots?" I have a local Big Lots in my area. Wonder if it's worth checking out for the 3rd edition binders. Then again it's been 11 years since the '97 release.....very old stock to keep... :o

I don't suppose they had any of the Dark Dominion binders/cards?

I'd like to get a complete set if they do.

I can hook you up with a binder if you're interested, but you'd have to get the cards yourself. There are always cheap boxes and sets of the DD cards on eBay.
