Deathmate Prologue White

Post by Fanboy375 »

I saw a deathmate prologue at a local store with a ton of signitures on it but it was not silver or gold; but white.

Anyone know anything about this?

Thanks,

Jonathan

And does anyone have an idea of a price for it? It is kinda pricey at that store.

I've got one of these. It's just the cover (front, back and inside) not the whole book. Not sure where they came from but I paid $2 for mine.

Too much. If I remeber correctly these were given away at conventions to get signed by the creators.

It's not a book. So it probably will never be on the check list. It is only a card stock cover with nothing inside.

Here is one of the Deathmate Prologue White covers:

These were printing errors (the presses ran out of the metallic ink or something like that).

http://allthingsvaliant.blogspot.com/20 ... d.html?m=1" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

To my knowledge this problem existed for 4 of the 6 deathmate issues. Namely:

Deathmate Prologue - White Error
Deathmate Red - White Error
Deathmate Blue - White Error
Deathmate Epilogue - White Error

While I only have one of the four in my collection I don’t think they are overly rare and I believe they generally don’t sell much.

Yeah, that Ebay description is a little over-the-top. Not surprising that sellers want to hype up their items to maximize profits, but it's ridiculous to say "rarest ever" when we've been seeing these pretty regularly since 1993.

While there do aeem to be error copies of the Deathmate book, the prologue white was a cover only special at one of the cons. There were signings with the artists, and that’s why so many of them sport numerous signatures. I believe I have 3 or so of these. They are not uncommon. I see them listed for $20-40, but I’ve only seen them actually move in the $20 range. I wouldn’t pay more than that unless you really want it ASAP.

I thought there were two Prologue whites. One with the cover given out at conventions for auto with a blank inside and one with the printing defect with a regular inside and white cover. I have the latter.

I could be wrong though as I bought my copy on the secondary market
