Variant Harbinger Hardcovers
So I have three hardcovers, two I bought from Mailordercomics and one I got from the contest that AICN ran.
Both the copy from the contest and one of the ones I bought have the red sticker on the wrapper that says the hc contains a story by Shooter... but one of the other copies doesn't have the sticker.
Does that make it a variant?

Ah, but doesn't the lack of sticker constitute a manufacturing error closer to the Bloodshot Platinum and X-O 0 variants?greg wrote:As much of a variant as Secret Weapons #11 without the envelope.
It's not like the stickers are put in by hand, it's an automated process, so the lack of a sticker would be a production error (it's not like they can be removed without breaking the wrapper).

No. It's on the plastic and not on the dusk jacket.ManofTheAtom wrote:So I have three hardcovers, two I bought from Mailordercomics and one I got from the contest that AICN ran.

Ok, then it's like a Secret Weapons #11 manufactured without the envelope.ManofTheAtom wrote:Ah, but doesn't the lack of sticker constitute a manufacturing error closer to the Bloodshot Platinum and X-O 0 variants?greg wrote:As much of a variant as Secret Weapons #11 without the envelope.

I'd think that the hc would rank higher than SW 11greg wrote:Ok, then it's like a Secret Weapons #11 manufactured without the envelope.ManofTheAtom wrote:Ah, but doesn't the lack of sticker constitute a manufacturing error closer to the Bloodshot Platinum and X-O 0 variants?greg wrote:As much of a variant as Secret Weapons #11 without the envelope.

It "ranks higher" in terms of being a better book... but not in terms of "variant status".ManofTheAtom wrote:I'd think that the hc would rank higher than SW 11greg wrote:Ok, then it's like a Secret Weapons #11 manufactured without the envelope.ManofTheAtom wrote:Ah, but doesn't the lack of sticker constitute a manufacturing error closer to the Bloodshot Platinum and X-O 0 variants?greg wrote:As much of a variant as Secret Weapons #11 without the envelope.

That would depend on how many copies shipped out without the sticker.greg wrote:It "ranks higher" in terms of being a better book... but not in terms of "variant status".ManofTheAtom wrote:I'd think that the hc would rank higher than SW 11greg wrote:Ok, then it's like a Secret Weapons #11 manufactured without the envelope.ManofTheAtom wrote:Ah, but doesn't the lack of sticker constitute a manufacturing error closer to the Bloodshot Platinum and X-O 0 variants?greg wrote:As much of a variant as Secret Weapons #11 without the envelope.

As many as you want. Shrinkwrap is cheap. Rip the original wrapping off, re-wrap without sticker.ManofTheAtom wrote:That would depend on how many copies shipped out without the sticker.greg wrote:It "ranks higher" in terms of being a better book... but not in terms of "variant status".ManofTheAtom wrote:I'd think that the hc would rank higher than SW 11greg wrote:Ok, then it's like a Secret Weapons #11 manufactured without the envelope.ManofTheAtom wrote:Ah, but doesn't the lack of sticker constitute a manufacturing error closer to the Bloodshot Platinum and X-O 0 variants?greg wrote:As much of a variant as Secret Weapons #11 without the envelope.

The hcs were sealed by machines. Hand-wrapped plastic would be easy to identify.
