check out my eBay store!

Post by Brother J »

I decided to go ahead and open an eBay store. I currently have 15 auctions running, including 14 Valiant single book auctions which won't appear in the general eBay search function. These all have BIN prices and I also have a shipping special, free shipping if you buy $20 or more worth of books.

There will be much more listed as I get time to do so. Thanks for looking!

That's a combination of wanting to get something listed that will come up in the general area so I can promote the new store and also not being 100% what the Goon set usually goes for on eBay.

hmmm, absolutely no sales on any of my store items. It seemed like a good deal with the cheap listings, but if no one is going to buy anything, I'll probably just close my store after the free period is up. Are my prices too high or do I just not have the right books listed? I thought the free shipping for orders $20 or over might help to move some books. Here's the link again if someone missed it the first time or wants to take a second look.

The store is a good idea, but you are not selling the hottest books right now. Your selection is mainly limited to Solar, yet Magnus and Harbinger appear to be the hottest commodities as of this moment. You might get some sales if you switched from BIN's to auctions. I bet you would get more for your books if you initially offered each one for just a little less than the going price, then let the speculators bid the price up. As I see it, your Goon sale is doing quite well because you let the market set the ceiling on those books. As far as your Solar collection, maybe if you offered a two or three book package of the better ones, you might move a couple at a time. Just my two cents...

I found that I need to run about 3-5 auctions to drive people to the store. The low price is attractive but you have to remember that the search results do not come up unless people are searching ebay stores.
Welcome to the Jungle!!

No it wasn't me that did that!!

With store listings, you have to use the Buy It Now feature and the results don't show up in the general search, like comicguy mentioned. I do agree that I would probably do a little better if I sold some hotter books in my store like Harbinger #0 Pink and #1-6 or Magnus #0 or #12, but I usually list those as regular auction since they do so well. I'll probably list some more Valiants as regular auctions, which might in turn bring more people into the store feature.

We all know why grocery stores make so much money... impulsive shoppers.

Get the "hard to find" stuff in your store and there may be a few impulsive purchases made simply to save on shipping.

Or am I the only one who shops this way? :D
