I don't have high hopes for finding much "Valiant-related" at the con...

It doesn't seem like sellers would bother bringing Valiant
when the only 'profitable' place to sell them (at this point) is Ebay.
Maybe I'll be wrong, but I don't expect much...

Yeah I would think that table space at a CON like that would be quite expensive...Not really going to move enough .25 comics to pay for that table...however there might be some cgc valiants or something like that....if you are not looking for valiants....what will you be looking for? More Superman stuff? :P

Interesting question...

I guess I'll be just wandering around for the most part...
I've never been to a "real con".
I went to a 10-table comic book show in a mall once.

Honestly, that will be the biggest excitement for me... just being there.
Central Arkansas has absolutely ZERO to offer in terms of comic book shows,
much less, "full-blown conventions"...

I should find out soon if I scored some free passes,
or if I have to buy a ticket like everybody else.

Actually, you might be surprised about how many people do have bargain boxes, even at a big show like this. I did real well last year, even with Valiants. One dealer had about 8 long boxes of just Valiants last year, I think the prices were like $1 each. Needless to say, I went through all the boxes and came up with a ton of good stuff, including a Bloodshot #6 VVSS, a near complete run of Shadowman Vol. 3 (including the variant cover of issue #2 that sold for crazy money on eBay) and a boatload of pre Unity and last issues. Other dealers had quite a bit of stuff as well. I think I ended up with almost a full longbox worth of Valiant books, all good stuff, no commons. I hope you guys get some good deals this year.

From what I read on other con summaries is seems to me that most of the Sellers have wised up to the Valiant prices and those who haven't are picked clean by other eBayers long before board members get there. But perhaps Chicago will be different.

Unfortunately, I decided over the weekend not to attend. If I was coming, I would have brought plenty of Valiant. CGC and not.

A booth is $700, and you really need to sell 10 times that to make it worth the trip. I don't have enough of the Golden and Bronze Age books (from the massive collection I purchased recently) ready for sale to make the trip worth it, probably. :-(
