uh, do you really want that book for $50? I have always found that variant to not be that rare (well, compared to some of the really hard to find VH3 books). The one WITH the price is harder to find, as I believe Medicar has been trying to obtain one of those for a while.Rubiks-Q-Bert wrote:I did not hit the BIN but I popped it. Let's see who wants it.

There's a few things I wanna point out about this auction...
1) Bro J mentioned the first, this book with no price is not hard to find. The variant with the price is harder to come by.
2) This seller is a known crook. He OVERGRADES severely and on purpose to squeeze more $$ out of you. When you ask him for a refund, he will flip you a bird and tell you to take a hike. You can see this crap written all over his feedback. Sigh...and it's a miracle that people are still bidding on his stuff...either that or folks just don't bother reading the feedbacks.
3) This seller has been mentioned more then once on this board. Yes he is on the blacklist, but if you insist on dealing with him...good luck and don't say we didn't warn you.

I like how every single book he has is NM/M...
be patient and you can get that book a lot cheaper:
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vi ... :IT&ih=022
I'm willing to say my copy is probably better than the one he's claiming is NM/M.

His NM/M books are more like VF or VF- if you go by CGC grading standards. I posted this in a previous thread where his name was brought up. He sniped me on a copy of Uncanny X-Men #297 Pressman variant. The original seller graded it as Fine with a large scan. From the scan, I would put the book at about a 5.0 just from the front cover. I thought my $20 bid was enough, but I didn't factor Vikes trolling Ebay for variants. Next thing you know, Vikes had the book listed up as a VF/NM for $100. Yes, you read me correctly...from a 5.0 to a 9.0. With that said folks....Vikes is nothing but a flat out crook!

There wasn't a discussion, I was making that up.wallywest wrote:I missed that discussion. What is the problem? I have never bought from him, but I have bid on a few of his auctions.ZephyrWasHOT!! wrote:I thought we all agreed not to give Vikes any business.....
However, there have been 3-4 threads trashing (and rightfully so, the guy's a bottom feeder scumbucket) Vikes in the last couple of weeks.

Jesus Christ! Is there anyone that stupid to hit that? It seems like Vikes has an endless arsenal of dirty moves at his disposal. He entices a ridiculous opening bid which only seems reasonable compared to the downright unbelievable buy-it-now.Rubiks-Q-Bert wrote:BIN is $125. Retracted my bid. Thanks for the warnings people.

Maybe we should let some of the ebayers that haven't dealt with him before know what a POS this guy is...through the use of creative listings!ZephyrWasHOT!! wrote:And most people fall for it.Escaflown4 wrote:He does this on purpose that way you have no recourse if you wanna file a complaint either through Ebay or PayPal.imagesowner2 wrote:not to mention he takes like 2 months to ship anything. Then he immediately listed it for $350 as "NM/M".
He has sniped me on several books, including the rare X-Men golds, and then "offered" them for a much higher GRADE and much higher PRICE.
When I wrote to him to say "hey, can't you let the COLLECTORS buy one of these for their COLLECTIONS, instead of just giving you fodder to sell?" he replied "if you wanna play with the big boys, you have to pay the big boy prices." He then re-lists the item, overgraded, and for 4-5 TIMES what he paid.
He's not a "big boy" (well, he may be, I wouldn't doubt if he lives in mommy's basement, munching ho-hos and living his life never knowing the companionship of a woman), he's a cheat. His prices aren't "big boy" prices; they're extortionate.
I have ZERO problem paying "big boy" prices....CLEARLY....I have ZERO problem with open, fair, honest competition.....I even have ZERO problem with people swooping in and buying everything that they consider to be underpriced to HOLD for when the market catches up.
But that's not how he operates. He takes these books out of the hands of collectors who actually want them, at prices that are supported BY THE MARKET at that time, and then IMMEDIATELY tries to resell them to those very same collectors....for a much, much, much higher price. It's scummy and foul, and anyone supporting this should SERIOUSLY reconsider. The only problem is, the crap he deals in is just rare enough that he hasn't been effectively marginalized.
He CANNOT COMPETE in the real world, so he has tried to create his own fantasy eBay world...and, sadly, he's been given *just enough* success to make it worth his time.
He's just a bad, scummy, bottom feeder mobster. He has no ethics. It's just sad that he picked comics to pull his fraud with.
It's VERY, VERY unfortunate that he has gotten into Valiants, but let's hope he stays at the fringe, huh? And whatever you do...don't support tactics like this.
