Check out this auction....

Wonder how much shipping gonna cost for this...
The guy claims this will have tons of Valiants, wonder how many of these would be the good issues.....

Anything less that $25000 and you would paying less than $.05 each which is not a horrible deal on moderns, which this most certainly is. I would think that you would get some decent valiants but probably more turok #1s than you could shake a very large stick at....Of shipping is a major concern...if you lived close you could rent a uhaul and got a pick them up, but that would suck...hell we are only talking about 2000 long boxes full of comics...this would be a good way to stock a crappy comic book store or maybe do a few shows with...well more than a few shows...I really dont know who buys these massive lots that you see on ebay all of the time...I guess that they will probably close somewhere around $25k for the lot...

I can tell you right now you're not going to get any Pre Unity Valiants in that lot. I've dealt with K. several times, and they are always putting up huge Valiant lots, with all of them being books from the glut era. He put up the majority of his pre Unity stuff early in the year, I won a lot of Haribnger #1-25 and four of the seven pre Unity issues were missing. I eventually got a credit for the books after he gave up on trying to locate them.

I am sure that it is in a warehouse like the one that greg visited. At least that is what it looks like from the pictures...Vault-Keeper wrote:Where did he get so many comics?
Better yet, where the hell does he keep them!!
I have a friend who bought the house next to his just to keep his Elvis record collection in it. He had so many records in one room, the floor collapsed! True story!

If this ends for $25,000 I will be REALLLLLLY surprised. This auction DEFINES the word 'wholesale', and you're going to get piles and piles and piles of trash...said piles with a wholesale value of 1-2 cents per.DawgPhan wrote:Anything less that $25000 and you would paying less than $.05 each which is not a horrible deal on moderns, which this most certainly is. You're NOT going to find anything of value in this lot, so forget it. Joe K.'s a savvy businessman, and isn't going to sell anything worth more than an ACTUAL QUARTER in these lots.
The FFF collection from CA was a far better lot. Wonder what Zillaf ACTUALLY paid....I would have loved to have picked up that lot....I spent enough time sifting through them in the very early 90's.

Unless you have a fetish for sifting through thousands and thousands of comics...I'd stay FARRRR away from this lot.

I guess that we will see. I think that their are people out there with more money than brains and have heard for too long that comics are worth money... if you only spent $25K on this lot..shipped and could move everything out @ $.125 each you would still be making money...of course how long would it take to make that money? Probably too long for it to be worth your while, but @ a quarter it starts becoming worth it, to me at least...I dont have the money nor the interest to do something like this, but I can see where someone would...

I could really use 3000 copies of Turok 1 & Hardcorps 1.

Years ago I was in the middle of a move, and I was driving my old *SQUEE* pickup through Orlando at 1 a.m. with six long boxes of comics next to me on the seat.DawgPhan wrote:that would be some haul for you...I could not imagine the problems with driving a pickup from FLA to NY with a bed full of comics....
Orlando after midnight can be a crazy place to drive, and I had to hit the brakes and swerve at one point and all the boxes shifted and dumped comics all over the cab. It was about a foot and a half deep with the damn things, I was cussing, people were staring.
Never again.

depends on what comic it is...if it is action #1 you DONT TELL ANYONE and slow drop them on the market...if it Turok #1 you shred it and use the shreddings to pack boxes for shipping...and make all the other turoks that much rarer...mrwoogieman wrote:the auction has been taken down by the seller. Maybe he counted them up and only came up with 485,342 issues and needs to revise his listing?
What does someone do with 3,000 issues of one comic anyway?
