The Rise of Lydia
Let's assume for a moment that all the eight page stories will focus on the bad guys. Who should the stories in the hardcovers that are sure to follow this one focus on?dino wrote:Valiant Entertainment’s X-O MANOWAR: BIRTH hardcover collection featuring a new “The Rise of Lydia” story by Valiant co-architect Bob Layton and a new cover by Sean Chen is being solicited in the February 2008 issue of Diamond’s Previews and will be in stores in April 2008.
Dr. Silk in the Ninjak hardcover (an expansion of the origin presented in issues 0 and 00) makes sense.
The Immortal Enemy in the Eternal Warrior hc.
The Sect in the Archer & Armstrong hc.
Master Darque in the Shadowman hc.
The Rai hc might be problematic since it didn't have a memorable bad guy. I don't think Icespike or Seko were that memorable.
The most memorable bad guy in the entire history of the Rai series were the Malevolents, but they're part of the Magnus copyright.
That list covers the core titles (and one spin off, Ninjak), but if they were to continue and explore the other series, a Dr. Eclipse story in the Second Life of Dr Mirage hc would be cool to see.
What ideas for other hcs and other villains can you guys think of?
Edit
Hideyoshi Iwatsu and Project Rising Spirit in the Bloodshot hc

- If you gave Aric hugs and kisses, would it be XOXO X-O?

That's an interesting suggestion, the Ronin Rai of the Lost Land, the only bad Rai of the bunch. The Unknown Spider wrote:Something really interesting can be done with the Rai that was left in the lost land working for the Mothergod
But eight pages would not be enough for a meaty story, maybe more of a prelude to a longer tale.
