Maybe I don't read so well but I haven't seen it announced here yet and or haven't scrolled all the way down. Newsarama is saying the fight is over check it out.

According to the article the X-O Hardcover will be solicited in the February Previews for April release. I wonder if the Harbinger Hardcover now will be carried by Diamond also?

Valiant Entertainment’s HARBINGER: THE BEGINNING hardcover collection featuring a new “Origin of Harada” story by comics’ legend Jim Shooter is being resolicited in the February 2008 issue of Diamond’s Previews.
Two VEI products in one issue of Previews.

Wooohooooo

This is a good pairing, X-O and Harbinger, which were the original VALIANT present-day comics (not counting Solar).

I am curious about why they chose to focus on Lydia in the new story. She really wasn't that important in X-O Manowar.

She was in issues 1 and 2 and that was it. She was considerably a very minor character in X-O Manowar's story. It wasn't until Shadowman that she really contributed something to the VALIANT Universe.

Maybe this story will explain what we were discussing the other day about how she went from being a Spider-Alien with human hands, legs, and head to a sexy woman that gave Jack a rise of his own.

Hmm...

Maybe the eight page story is how she got Orb from Doug Friedman. That be cool, I'd like to see more of that character. He only appeared at the end of Vengence Trail and was never seen again (someone recently here said that Doug was the one supposed to be behind Ken's kidnapping before Birthquake).

IF this story serves more as an introduction for Doug than to tell us more about Lydia, it could be used as a way to fix the whole BQuake mess.

That be awesome, like a prelude to an extended mini that serves to fix what went wrong. :thumb:

Here's the problem with Unity 2000... the story was written for the benefit of the VH 2 characters. In order for U2K to benefit the original characters, the last issue would need to be rewritten, redrawn, and reinked.

Even if VEI got Shooter and Rubinstein to work on a new version of U2K #6, I really doubt that Starlin would agree to do it. From comments posters have made on this board, it sounds like Starlin doesn't think too highly about the project.

So, they would need at least a new penciller, if not an entirely new creative team, in order to finish a project that wasn't that good to begin with.

According to Joseph Campbell's "Hero With A Thousand Faces", one aspect of the heroic journey involves the return of the hero after an absence of some kind.

This return usually takes place at the middle of the hero's journey.

With that in mind, what I'd like to see is, basically, what I've said all along that I want to see; a resolution to X-O Manowar #45-#68/X-O Manowar/Iron Man that reveals that everything that happened was part of a ploy by Doug Friedman to turn Aric mad and regain his control over Orb Industries.

Everything in XO after 44, from the girl with boobs bigger than her head to meeting Iron Man, can be easily dismissed as a virtual reality cage that Aric has been trapped in for the last decade (something like his meeting with Iron Man can be dismissed as one of Doug's computer nerds getting bored with the software and deciding to include a character from the comics in it to keep things going, while Crescendo can be dismissed as a computer nerd's wet dream) from which he escapes in 2008, thus achieving the return aspect of the hero's journey that Campbell wrote about.
