(I didn't use to think such explanations were necessary, cause I imagine most everyone by now understands most everyone else's personalities, but I'm becoming more and more aware that that's not really true. So. In case anyone is REALLY wondering, I'm really only kidding in this thread. It's mildly annoying when I get the "SUSPENDED" bluesky.host thingie, but it's reallllly not the end of the world. I just go and do something else.

I posted this more as a friendly reminder to people to not do poorly worded searches, at least not four in a row, but if you do, it's....truly....not the end of the world, and it really isn't any skin off my nose. Fair enough? Thanks for reading!

Simplest way to explain the rule: Hyphens between words that end in "ly" and the word they're describing are a no-no.

Both my parents were school teachers and my Mom had a Master's in English. So speaking proper English around my home growing up was paramount. You don't want to know what happened if I started a sentence such as: "Can me and Joe go to the park after supper?"

Hyphens are for compound words made up of two adjectives, from what I recall. "Poorly worded" is an adverb/adjective combination, and I don't remember if the hard-fast rule hyphen rule applies to that combination as well.

I'll have to check with my copy of Elements Of Style.
