Still solid story. It's kind of good to see the old-fashioned adventures that work out in one issue or two. The side-note about buying a nation is preposterous. Had the gold at least been for bribes it could have worked.

I love those Dame Spider Aliens

Issue #6 is a good All Around Story. There's something about a Spider Alien Appearance that I just love, and Luckily in this issue they use Spider Aliens in the right way to make the story succeed. This issue isn't supper strong on art work, but It does deserver an Honorable Mention for the Page 1 art image of the Spider Alien, and Page 2 art image of Shakespeare locked up in the Probing machine with the Spider Aliens viewing over the captured humans, just a great set-up for this Pg. 2 image.
I’ve included below some of my random notes from re-reading this issue:
Is the genetically Bioengineered Human Looking Spider Alien at the beginning of this issue “Lydia,” the same Spider Alien that bit Shadowman?
I love how they have the Spider Aliens Shipwrecked on Earth biding their time until they can re-invade the Earth again. There are pockets of Spider Aliens all over Earth probably infiltrating into politics and important businesses all over the Globe. Great Idea whoever though of introducing Spider Aliens into the Valiant Universe.
I agree that the whole Harada using the Gold to buy a country in the newly freed former Soviet Republics was a ridiculous story plot. It totally would have been better if he was just going to use the Gold to Bribe officials of that country so he could run a puppet type government, and in actuality if you re-read that portion of this issue, that’s what Mr. Heydrich could have meant, but the writers should have wrote it a little better so there would have been no confusion, if that’s what they actually meant.
The story line was the best feature of this whole issue, and ended with a great Cliff Hanger. 4/5
