Mid-Ohio Con Nov. 24-25

Probably way too late to make plans, but I was going and wanted to know if anyone else was going?

It's in Columbus, Ohio Thanksgiving weekend

Ok.... I.ve never been to a really big show, but I had fun at this one. I got a dealer pass from my buddy with a shop, and got in early. Dug through boxes for 2 days, and have some trade bait to add to my list although I only found a dozen or so books I needed. I was happy to fill some of the "common" VH1/2 sets like Visitor, Secret Weapons, and snagged a VH3 Shadowman I needed. So, it was good. Oh, and got a late Q&W book for cover. :thumb: But, there was more I needed, but it was only VF, and was priced at NM. Alot of people had Valiant boxes marked on the front, and some said things like "Valiant is hot again" or "Valiant is coming back". But, I did give my wantlist to a few dealers who said they had lots at home or the store to unload, so I may have some good news in the coming weeks.

Also, I got to meet Herb Trimpen Roger Stern, Noel Neill (Lois Lane from the George Reeves Superman show), and many others including a fella I buy art from every time I see him named Dan Davis (he does Cartoon Network stuff, Tec, Green Arrow others). I told Miss Neill I thought she stole the show from George, but really she was just one of my first crushes. ;) I bought 3 pages from Dan (A Justic League Adventures, a Tec page, and a Scooby Doo page all for $30), and I'm going to order a Valiant character sketch next month. He lives about 45 minutes away. Also, I drooled over some key Flash books in high grade, sat in on a CGC panel, met The Difuser (from Who Wants To Be A Superhero?... he was a a nice guy strangely enough), and learned alot about what not to do as a dealer which I've always wanted to try my hand at. All-in-all a pretty good time. I wish I'd had loads more money as the guy who did the covers for the new Doctor Who strip reprints had the OA there, and I nearly fainted they are so beautiful!!

So, I'm hoping to get a group of you guys there next year, so keep your calendars and wallets open! :thumb:
