So I'm checking this page Secrets of the Valiant Universe #3, and a quick glance catches this:

Availability: LESS COMMON - Not always available in stores, but many collectors have them.
Lower demand in 1995 led to the decreasing print runs for these issues.
Approximate Print Run: 50,000 copies

Most modern comics have a hard time breaking the 50,000 copies barrier, even hyped ones like say Superman: Birthright.

If a comic like Secrets #3 with a print run of 50,000 copies is considered to be less common and hard to come by, what does that say of newer comics like BR, which have a print run of 35,000 copies?
:atomic: Comics are like a Rorschach test, everyone has a different opinion on what they are and can be... :atomic:

"Less common" in the Valiant universe of books.

5 times less common than HardCorps #1.
10 times less common than Bloodshot #1.
35 times less common than Turok #1.

"Less common".

Heh, ok.

But you also bring up that it's not always available in stores.

Witha 50,000 copies print run, its availability is greater than many modern comics :)

There's a lot of stores nowadays that don't even bother to stock back issues, though, at least not back issues from more than a few months back. Also, there's so many stores that don't even have Valiant backstock. There are also plenty of stores that have tons of the glut issues but none of the later issues since they stopped ordering them.

I think Greg's comments that these books aren't readily found in shops is accurate, regardless of the print runs.

Not just that, but how many of them actually have VALIANT in their backstock anymore? They fell victim to the .50 bins.

Especially that Armorines V2 # 4 I picked up yesterday. SWEET! :D

Its kinda nice to know that a lot of retailers are still living about 7 years behind on the not so popular backissues. Picked up a Bloodshot 51 and 2 (that's right, 2) Last Stand issues for a whopping .75 cents, but they had a Rai 3 for $75.00, and wasn't even NM! Tell how many times you've seen a BloodShot Last Stand in the quarter bin, let alone, 2 together.

I dunno, but I just found a Rai #3 (and in good shape) TODAY for just 50 cents. And VH2 Armorines #4 for 75 cents.

So they're still out there. Just keep on looking.

Actually I am really annoyed, because my comic store still sells every issue at at least cover price. Their Turok #1's are at like 3.25 a pop (and they have ten of them) I asked him how much it was and he says "3.25." For goodness sake. You know? (This is the real reason I only have reading copies of most my books, the place was way too expensive.)

I feel for ya, Dave....moron idiotic 'store owners' like that need to go out of business and FAST.

If I had a billion dollars...I'd open up a store next to each one of these idiots and drive them out of business in 6 months.

God bless competition.

:)
