Buying Valiant Comics
Man, I keep trying to get early Valiant stuff off ebay but keep getting outbid at the last second of the auction. I just don't have time to sit in front of the computer till the last second...guess I'll just get back to raiding $1.00 boxes before the comic owners start pulling the issues out themselves in anticipation of the relaunch. Anyway, a Rai #3 is up to $32.53!
Does anyone else have any stories to share where they've had sucess finding early or late issues? Just last weekend I found a Rai final issue in a dollar box and next to the last issues of Eternal Warrior and Bloodshot along with an issue of Shadowman 3. I'm lucky though there's a shop in town that has over 200 long boxes in a shop that can be raided for 2 for $1.00. What other places are good hunting grounds? Sorry if this topic already exists somewhere

I'm currently on vacation this whole week but I had a couple of items I'm watching that ended while I'm here in Disney World. I have my laptop with me but I'm not going to sit next to it the whole time I'm on vacation! My cell phone has access to the internet and ebay. I snipe and hate bidding hours/days before an auctions is over. When I'm not near my computer I'm always bidding on the phone. Today I was lucky enough to win an auction while waiting for the girlfriend to buy Mickey souvenirs. If I didn't have this option I'd be home a lot more often!Second_Death wrote:Yep.....Let the peckers feast on scraps because it is usually an esniper that lays down the esmack at the end.myron wrote:yup, gotta be snipin' to get auctions now...just remember even a sniper won't get you an auction if you don't set your bid high enough...

So how often does the esnipe actually work for you? I was thinking about signing up, but I wanted to wait so till I can afford more than a few penny auctions.Jay Tomio wrote:http://www.esnipe.com/eternalfan wrote:Man, I keep trying to get early Valiant stuff off ebay but keep getting outbid at the last second of the auction. Kid tested, Tomio approved.

Which isn't true of the person on just about any HG desirable VALIANT issues that has the highest bid with a minute to go.
It allows you be in the game, not so much as win it (bottom line is your bid) but where it really helps is the value you get on a winning bid.

But, it does work good. This was just a test anyways.
