Man that guy has a bunch of trades up. The problem is that it seems that in each lot only half of the books are actually things I would want. I have most of those VALIANT trades already, so the Magnus tpbs I need don't make that auction worth it.
I'm OK with just ONE copy of each of the trades (and one of each variant for completion sake)

I had 7 of those TPBs at the Sacto con yesterday (near Modesto) for half Greg's guide Sunday.
With the current bid at $30 (with shipping), the auction's likely to go over what I was selling them for.
I also don't think it's okay to ask other people not to bid on someone's auctions. What if the seller was a board member and you just shafted him out of what he might have earned for his books? You should realize that he has to pay listing fees, final value fees, paypal fees, etc. for books you're colluding on with other board members to pay a lower price.
As final eBay prices are monitored, what you're really doing is keeping the market for Valiants DOWN by artificially lowering the fair market price.

I know I have seen auctions that some of you all were the high bidder on that I was perfectly ready to outbid. It always turned out that ink.inc had bid up the price WAY over what I would have wanted to bid anyway by the time it came to snipe away.

Agreed.... If I had a bid, then someone I know here really needed 10 of the 11 books, and I only needed 1 I'd work to let them have it, then try to get the one. If not, they needed the 10 more than I needed the 1. Unless it's a Unity Red or CEAR, then all bets are off!Dr. Solar wrote:Only if we honor the request...sckao wrote:I had 7 of those TPBs at the Sacto con yesterday (near Modesto) for half Greg's guide Sunday.

You know, I was actually wondering about bidding on auctions, letting someone else have it, and talking about auctions with other board members to get them to lay off of an auction. I mean, if there is an auction, and I plan to "bring the pain", and someone else plans to "bring the pain" also, then someone is gonna be left with a painful hole in their wallet.
Also, if I plan to win an auction by whatever means necessary, and another board member is interested, but doesn't know, then they are going to be needlessly bumping up the final price I pay, even though there is no way they are gonna get it.
Just points to think about.
I do think it is best to let fair market reign, but these are interesting points to me.

I commandest though to not bid on thine auction!
