Good Day!

Post by whetteon »

I went to work to receive an actual project to start working on. I've been on "research and development" status for about a month and a half now and if you never done R&D, believe me, after a few weeks it gets amazingly boring. So that was good new. I get to actually start coding again :D

Then I come home to find two new packages waiting for me quietly on my doorstep. The first were the Harbinger #1's I purchases from a secrete comic source. I paid $7.50 per comic so it wasn't a fantastic deal but $15 for the two sure beats $50 on eBay! I looked them over carefully and discovered the first one has the infamous staple crease! But the other was actually in fantastic shape. I would say it’s somewhere between 9.4 and 9.6 depending on how picky the cgc graders are that day. So that was awesome.

The second package was from this auction:
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vi ... %3AIT&rd=1 Now, reading that description you would be expecting a 5.5- or maybe even a 6.0 if your extremely lucky. The comic is in beautiful shape. There are about 7-8 minor (1/16th) creases on the spine. Both the back and the front cover are untouched and just gorgeous to look at. I place the book under the light just to see if I missed something and the light gleamed back proving no more creases, rips or tears. I want to say the book was under-graded and it’s really a 7.5ish. I'm going to send it to cgc whenever I am willing to wait 18 months for my Solar #1 to come back home.

A fine day indeed. :D

Nice stuff, man! I've been collecting the early Doctor Solar issues too, and that's a beautiful find in that condition!

I had a similarly good day. I've been ebaying/trading a whole lot lately, and tons of packages all arrived at once today. I got:

Albedo #3
TMNT (1st series) #1 (3rd print), #2 (2nd print), #3, #4, #5
Usagi Yojimbo #1
Rai #1-4
Harbinger #1
Shadowman #1-4
A random lot of independent comics, including one called "Captain Confederacy". Scary or funny? You decide.
Kenner Super Powers Batman, Robin, and Wonder Woman figures, all dead mint
White Zombie DVD (1930s horror movie, definitive remastered edition)

plus a bunch of other comics that completed various runs for me. Something like ten packages arrived in all!

Yes, it's been a GOOD day :D :D
