well, just got back from charlotte and herocon '04 and i have to say i was a little disappointed.
there were virtually NO valiant books there. i took a signifgant amount of money up there with hopes of filling some major gaps in my collection but alas, it was not to be.
i did find some stuff however. i got solar #6 for $7, #4 for $5, turok gold for $5, unity gold for $10, turok #47 for $10, chaos effect omega gold for $12 and a diamond x-o trade for $20.
now i'm only 2 issues from a regular run, harbinger #5 and #6.
i still have a good bit of cash left so if anyone is looking to unload some golds let me know, i have a list i can send.

There was a guy in the back near the concession stand that had all the VH1 Pre-unity issues. The prices ranged from $10 to $35 a piece but were 50% off that price. He had a Unity #1 Gold with a $50 sticker price for $25. He didn't have a CEAR #1 nor a Harbinger #0 Pink. He didn't sell any issues.
It was an ok show.
There were a ton of common issues for .25 to .50 cents a piece.
