Ok, I won the 4 Unity TPBs with Slipcover on Ebay. I was wondering what you guys would recommend for me to read now? I plan on picking up the early X-O books cause I just love that character. Which other early Valiant books were good? Solar??

If you're still looking into the TPBs, you need Solar: Alpha & Omega.
Magnus #1 through #8 are also available as TPBs, "Steel Nation" and "Invasion",
but the prices for those original comic books aren't very high if you don't mind
a missing coupon. (Coupons were cut out of Magnus #1 - #8 to get #0.)

There are also TPBs for Rai (#1-#4), X-O (#1-#4), Harbinger (#1-#4)...
and you'll want to get a copy of Rai #0 in order to know the "Valiant future".

Rai #0 is reprinted in the Rai Trade with issues 1-4 of the original. Rai #0 may seem a little confusing, but it will make sense a piece at a time.

The Trades are the way to go...that and reder copies. KC collectibles has some awesome deals on the early Magnus issues right now...$.50 apiece for 2-8 without the coupons...some of the best reads there are!

Zach...uh, daydreamscomics has some great deals on the Harbinger, Valiant Era, X-O and Rai Trades...still sealed they each come with an extra comic for $2.50 apiece!

KC also has an opened Shadowman Trade for like $2. For less than $15 you can have some of what we here on the boards think of as some of the best stories written.

I would jump on the Magnus issues and at least two of the Trades. Great readin'! Enjoy!

Wow, can't believe it's been more than a year since I posted this, LOL!! Well, I actually bought a ton of Valiant books. It was kind of sad cause they got weaker and weaker after the Unity books. I like how when there is a new character, they put him in all the books, making a small cameo.

oops, my bad...just trying to help...didn't really check the date of the last post!

Oh well, those guys have some killer deals going on right now anyway, so it wasn't a total loss! :)

I'll try to check the date before I post...

Shadowman is good stuff...
Bob Hall is quickly becoming one of my favorite creators... haven't finished the series quite yet, but this is the one series that I'm intent on reading from start to finish after I finish reading the VU (ahhhh... VU....) all the way through.

In my opinion, Shadowman is the only book that remained excellent all the way to the end (excluding issues by a guest writer).
