ValiantComics.com's 5th Anniversary!
On June 9, 1999, "valiantcomics.com" was registered as an internet domain name.
On June 21, 1999, the hosting company had completed their setup
and the "Valiant Revisited" website previously found at www.flash.net/~gholla
was moved to http://www.valiantcomics.com
Here's how the site looked in the "early days":

You can "interact" with the old ValiantComics.com website
via the "Way Back Machine" on http://www.archive.org
Here's an old "front page" and here's a price guide from December 2000.
The messageboards weren't added until August 2002, and as you know,
they were lost in a server drop and "re-booted" in February 2004.
We've certainly grown in the past five years...
I bet there's only a few guys who remember the site
when it looked like it does in the graphic above.
It should be fun to see what the next five years bring!

Congrats Greg
I think I have visited the site just about everyday since Feb of last year. I owe it all to Dan listing your site in one of his auctions. I hope you have backed up the message boards and site a little more to prevent the problems of the past. Heres looking to another 5. Keep up the great work.

WOW! Has it really been five years? I remember coming across Joe's site and then seeing this one waaaaayyyy back then. Your site has really evolved since then and has done wonders to (re)introduce Valiant to people around the world.
Who would have thought that Wizard would start adding Valiant titles to their price guides again or that a Harbinger 0 Pink (ungraded) would sell for $125+? Greg, you even were published in OVERSTREET!
Congrats Greg! It will be interesting to see where Valiant comics go in the next 5 years.

Congrats
Congrats Greg,,, I remember finding your site Late 99', actually it was the reason Why I decided to open my Ebay account and begin buying Valiants once again. Those really were great days, I used to pick up Unity #0 reds for $18 and back then I wouldnt pay more than $20 for them or any other Valiant. Cant believe it has been this long, Keep up the Great Work Greg..

I could make up another gold logo Valiant Visions issue. Or does an anniversary not count if the newsletter was cancelled?greg wrote:Ummm... Chris, isn't this the 10th anniversary of "Valiant Visions"cjv wrote:No contests to give away something rare?

yep
yea, i remember the conversation on the boards when we thought that was an intesting coincidence. I think the record on the boards on the topic went up in smoke with the crashmyron wrote:Shakespeare wrote:Hey, Greg, wern't the message boards added in August 2002? We could hold auctions for some interesting stuff get ole' Bob outta bed, maybe some others. Valiantcomics.com (Greg) would get a % of the auction + tickets, damn I would by that for a buck! we would get drunk, spend to much money and drool at the artist drawing stuff. Sorry, getting carried away...hum..

Actually, the idea of a auction sounds great.
Perhaps some of the contributors could donate an item or two, as well as members of the board. A sketcm, autographed comic, whatever.
Tickets could be cheap, with all (or some) of the money going to keep Valiant Comics.com alive for another 5 years.

I'd be willing to send an Official Valiant 3rd Anniversary balloon (from 1994) to everyone who donates $5 to the website....
Also I'd like to auction off a 1992 DARK ADVENTURE CON Regular Print Set, with the proceeds going to Greg as a website donation. There are three large prints in this set. It's a hard set to find! I'll post the exact size & details tomorrow. Bidding starts at $10, if anyone is interested. I'll take bids until this time next week.---Steve G
