Mile High comics
Basically, this is a what do you think about mile High Comics post.
But specifically, this...... there are a few Treasury sized books that I had as a child that I wan't to get again, they are.....
Limited Collectors Edition C51

Limited Collectors Edition C48

Limited Collectors Edition C56

and this big sized King Kong

and Mile High has them 2 of them in their ebay store....... they seem a bit high for the condition, the Batman book is Good for $7.56, and the Supers / Flash book is $8.19 (but really I just want to read them again)..... but my question is....... generally, overall, should I look to get books from mile high, or are the to over priced?
I might get impatient and just get them.... but I wanted to get some feedback first.
so, mile high...... good or bad (overall)?

They do have a toll free # listed on their web site, just have to call during their operating hours and you'll be serviced...Jay Tomio wrote:It could be said - why not call them? Because the long distance call of any length would just add to the industry high price I was paying to begin with and the overall value - to me as a consumer - wasn't worth it at this point.

I agree that Mile High's definition of "NM" is probably anywhere from 5.0 to 9.8.
However, you asked about buying some of your old favorites in Good condition.
I'm guessing you'd probably get somewhere around Good (2.0) if you bought those...
since it's not the low part of the grading scale that Mile High has trouble with.
(However, you won't get books that look like the scan... those are just stock photos.)

I've only had one bad experience with them and grading, and they made it right in the end. It was a hassle to send the book back, but I did get my money.
I usually wait til they have a sale and buy lots of low end stuff, filler and such. I rarely buy high end books from them because of prices, but when they have a sale, I can get filler for a little more than quarter bins and in better shape.

Ok, I recieved my books yesterday. They were packed the best I've ever seen books shipped..so a plus already. THEN I look at the books, as expected, over graded!! But I paid well under guide so I'm not too *SQUEE*....TIL I go to change the books into my bags and boards (I'm petty like that) and notice I have 2 Deathmate Black GOLDS & no Deathmate Blue GOLD. I call them and they tell me sorry and they have another Deathmate Blue GOLD and will ship it out that day and to keep the extra Black GOLD. So, now I go from having NO GOLDS to having 2 dupes of GOLDS

I won two books on Ebay... grand total = $1.96.
They charged $1.95 for shipping on the first book, $0.00 for the second.
The grand total that I paid to Mile High was $3.91.
They used Priority Mail for $4.05.
They netted -$0.14 and now have two less books.
Both were overgraded, but at about $1 each (or $2 each including shipping), I'm ok with it.
Their "NM" was actually around "VF", and their VF was closer to "FN/VF".
(...but because I expected the overgrading, I paid accordingly.)
