Help my son raise money for St. Jude
My son, Alan, is participating in the St. Jude's Math-a-Thon this year. Alan would really appreciate your help in raising money for the Math-a-Thon. The money you contribute will help St. Jude help kids from all over the world who have cancer, AIDS, sickle cell and other catastrophic diseases. At St. Jude, no family ever pays for treatments not covered by insurance, and families without insurance are never asked to pay. Thanks to millions of people just like you, St. Jude is also able to pay for transportation for patients and their families and give them a place to live while they are at St Jude. Since opening in 1962, St. Jude has treated patients from all 50 states and more than 70 foreign countries. Your support of the Math-A-Thon makes you a part of our mission to find cures and save children.
You can help two different ways:
First, you can pledge to pay Alan a certain amount of money for each math problem he completes. Alan has the opportunity to complete up to 300 problems. You can pledge as little as 3 cents per problem - that adds up to only $9.00 - small amounts add up and every little bit helps St. Jude! Feel free to pledge as much or as little as you can. Please make all payments via check payable to St. Jude Children's Research Center - and remember donations are tax deductible.
Second, you can access Alan's Math-aThon page and donate via credit card by following these steps:
https://www.mathathonwired.org/Mathatho ... Reset=true
Click on Louisiana and then type in Alpine and click find. Alan's school is Alpine Christian School. Click on his school name, then "Sponsor Participant." Then type in Alan Fitts to access his own page!
Thank you for your help. Pledges will be collected when Alan completes his test booklet (around Nov.1st).
Thanks,
Heath and Amanda Fitts

I would agree with you, but then we'd both be wrong.

He got the book at school Friday. He finished it Friday evening.
And thanks for the donation! If he raises $50, he gets to throw a pie in his principal's face.
And if he's the school's top seller (over $150) he gets an MP3 player. But, of course, he's more excited about thowing the pie.

They had to turn everything in yesterday. We don't know how he fared yet. He pulled $260 total and was the only kid in the school that had any online donations. My hunch is he was the top money raiser in the school, but I don't know for sure. It's possible someone raised more but it was all offline.
