What is the rarest item in the Valiant Collection?

Post by X-O MattOwar »

I'm no where near a great comic collector most of the things I have are visual aids for my sculpting but I did see that there was an X-O statue made that some people own that was never produced which got me wondering what is the absolute rarest item/comic/ring/whatever made? I mean official item.

Well, it depends on what you mean by "official item." I will take it to mean "produced by Voyager, for sale (or giveaway) by Voyager.

The X-O gold ring is iffy, since we don't know why these were made or how many of them there are. They were not offered for sale, though.

The Upper Deck VE Wooden Box and card set has to be on that list, since there are only 100.

The Unity Limited Trades, at 500 each, are rare.

There's probably rare stuff like posters or othre promo items, like stand ups, that we have no idea how many survived or were produced.

If we expand to third party productions, the Dark Adventure Red Cross Print Set comes to mind, the color set limited to 25.

The rarest item is my Jesse Berinka signed Outcast special, autographed to Chris Vitek. There is only one in existance.

I mean produced by voyager entertainment. I know an individual that has the Gold X-O ring. I'll try to get a picture of it. The weight and the look seem solid gold but I'm no expert. I guess cjv wins with the one-of-a-kind.

Well, it was signed by Berdinka when he was working for Valiant, so isn't that an official production? ;)

JK, I know what you meant. The Bloodshot 0 platinum must be among the rarest - 25 copies....but it was a mistake.

I've got Hong Kong versions of X-O manowar #0 and Ninjak #1 with foil embossed covers. They could be the only ones ever produced 8-)

I'm just guessing here... but I'm GUESSING they're not authorized.
Call it a hunch.

Actually I think they may have been. Have a look at the front covers of the books, theres a voyager communications logo!

Beyond original art, my vote goes for either the Dark Adventure Con platinum print set, Bloodshot 0 platinum error, or the Deathmate factory card set. I'm sure everybody has heard of the first 2 on this list, but how many of you have heard of the factory Deathmate set? It is complete with all inserts in a special box & states on it "For Promotional Use Only - Not For Sale." I'd also have to throw the Unity 90 card uncut sheet up there as well. ~Erskine
