I never understood why Shooter thought Lapham was going to be the next Frank Miller.

BTW, I kind of assumed everyone reading this would be familiar with what comics those are from, but just in case:

The top frames are from Stray Bullets #1 by David Lapham, released in 1995.

The bottom frames are from All Star Batman and Robin (ASSBAR) #2 by Frank Miller, released in 2005.

EDIT: Added titles to the pic.

"German," the word is "German." Apparantly, there was some uproar from Germany about this, so the publishers capitulated and not only blocked out part of the letters, but switched the "M" and the "A" at the end of the word.
