Report from Philly Con
I only went on Sunday, so I didn't see Kevin Smith & missed seeing Jim Lee & Rob Liefeld, but I did talk to both Jim Starlin & Rags Morales (neither had crowds by their tables).
Valiant deals were _hard_ to find. By my gauge, about 1/3 of the modern age dealers were carrying Valiants at very high prices.
I saw Unity Red: $75; Harbinger 1 (x 4): $30, Magnus 0: $17-$25 per; and the going rate for X-0, Magnus, Solar 1, Predator Platinum was $10 a piece.
Last issues & Unity 2000 were even worse, as dealers were asking $20-$35 or more.
I considered but then passed on a NM run of Shadowman 1-35 for $15; definitely would have done $20 if it had been the complete run.
The only Valiants I picked up were Magnus 2, 3, 4 & 8 (3 each) for cover price.
This was the first show where I was focusing on books other than Valiants, but compared to one year ago, the dealers have gotten saavy: Early & late-run Valiants are back as wall books.
Anyone else attend?
