Pictures of Dead Universe Comic Covers

Post by fatback »

If the powers that be on these boards would allow it ,it would be interestng to see a set up similar to the valiant guide on this site for the dead universe with cover pictures and possible prices, ie.Ultraverse, Tekno and so on . I'm sure there is a site with some of them but I would like to see them all in one easy to access place like these boards. I know what all the wise a**%$ are going to reply on these boards , Its a Valiant comics web site :!:

You wish is my demand.

http://www.forgottenuniverses.com/index2.html

Actually Ryan cooked this baby up. I am supposed to be helping with more cover scans of the Dead Universes listed but I have dropped the ball somewhat on that.

Price guides ? Yikes... a lot of work goes into the Valiant stuff alone with a lot of Ebay tracking. I for one am not good with numbers/stats but I would like to see such a price guide. But I could start it right here I guess.

ALL common Dead Universe titles range from $.10 to $1.00 each. (caveat: if you pay more than $.50 cents for a Dead Universe book, you probably paid too much :) )

An exception to this guide could be the 'special books' (i.e. Ultraverse silver/gold holofoils, Bravura silver/gold foils, etc) and those could be statistically accounted for through a similiar means like Greg does for Valiant books. Again, I am not number saavy enough to do it.

Thanks Knightt. :thumb: Site still lacking some dead universes though ie. Crossgen and Tekno. Just being picky I guess :D . I'm sure we could get pictures from those universes at milehigh comics web site or some other site if we really wanted too.

Well, perhaps I can talk to Ryan to add those great Dead Universes. I bet he would be up to it but it would require a massive cover scanning effort. We could work it one title at a time. I know that I owe him scans of the many variant covers that I have for Ultraverse.

Let me drop him an email and see what he says.

Anyone interested in helping scan a few covers ? With my work load, impending retirement from the Army and two college classes it brings my time to a minimum (not to mention I have kids and a wife and that activity that MAKES kids that I try to engage in as often as I can with my wife... :thumb: )

On a few of the Dead Universes threads I have tried to identify a website that is a good reference tool as well.

:thumb: I dont have a scaner. And if I did I wouldent even know how to use it. I do like the ideal thow. :thumb:

Like Knightt said the price on most of these are no more than 50 cents. The special book are what ever you are willing to pay. I'm cheap so I think the most I have payed 5 bucks .

The most I ever paid for a book was $30 for a Bucky O'Hare hard cover and $10 for a signed numbered Prime hard cover.

I have emailed Ryan and am just waiting on his return email to see if we can get a scanning project going.

You know it would be nice to see the cover of some of those books, so you could check and see if thats the one you have. Dose this make any sence.

I use THIS site very often to check Malibu/Ultraverse variants:

http://217.196.238.182/big-tel/variants ... ulist1.htm

It is very nice but I have provided the guy who runs it with a few 'updates' to scans that he does not have only to see NO change in the site or even an acknoledgment that he got the email.
