Just read the first 3 issues of 52 and it's looking pretty sweet I must admit. It's really nice to have a mix of characters I know and ones that I'm either way too young to know or are fresh and new. I particularly like the way their handling potential mistakes in the universe/timeline with Booster Gold... one of those annoying characters you just have to love! Sadly he wouldn't stick a chance with his own series which is how I feel about most of the new/out of print characters on display here... their fun to see but only in passing.

Some people spend their whole lives believing in fairy tales, usually because they don't want to give up the fabulous prizes.

I've liked it so far, and I'll probablly stick with it for the full run... but does it seem like a comic version of 24 to anyone else?

I'm from the uk to I don't think that we get ripped off I pay £1.40 for an issue of 52, well that was the first issue I don't Know about the others cos I was so dissapointed with the firstian_house wrote:Yea it'd be nice if it was only $130 but it'll be LOADS more than that caus im in the UK and we get ripped off for comics...
Actually, I've read an interview with DiDio which says that they want Booster to be annoying. They're actually returning him to his roots. When he debuted in the 80's, he was nothing but a corporate shill. He came back from the future and decided to use his knowledge to make a fortune (which he then promptly lost). That's why doing everything for public glory (complete with an announcer in Skeets) fits so well.Knightt wrote:I guess I just find Booster Gold to be very annoying... like many DC characters.
As a rule, I only read Batman. I've tried others but they leave me wanting.
I'm not wild about the new direction, but at least it's true to the character.

I can't stand Booster. They are returing him to his roots which I hate. He is just irritating. The parts of 52 that I am enjoying the most are the question, montoya and elongated man segements. I am enjoying the other characters also those are just the most interesting. With all the other characters in this I can endure the Booster segments.

I have never really been that much into DC personally. I have always enjoyed Batman since Knightfall and Superman somewhat, especially when he died haha. However, I just can't follow 52...I haven't kept up with DC enough to know exactly what's going on. 52 is the worst possible comic for someone to attempt to read if they don't know much about DC; a huge all-encompassing storyline with every single unrecognizable character and a multitude of focused sub-plots within each issue. Not to mention there are possibly 52 issues with Booster, it's a good premise but it's not for me.

I picked up 52 #5 and it wasnt bad, but when I thumbed through #6 to see how the story concluded, nothing was mentioned of the previous week. If someone can tell me when they talk about Adam Strange again in this series I'd appreciate it. The DC website is no help in this endeavor, and as a

Booster being found out as a fraud makes me think that they are heading toward him redeming himself later in the year as a hero and probably dying saving the world or something. I think that's probably for the best.

I don't read DC very much so this may be a misguided question, but why is their universe so convoluted that they need a Crisis of some kind every 6 years to bring things back into check?
Coincidentally, this is why I don't really read DC.... I'd have no idea what the hell is going on, & even their main characters have just become uninteresting. Green Lanter, however, is a great read....
