Anyone Have Any Info On My Harbinger Trade Paperback?
hi guys, i just realized something.
i have a harbinger tpb signed by jim shooter, number 853 of 2000 from a company called "national comic services, ltd."
the certificate reads as follows:
"certificate of authencity
the undersigned, national comic services, ltd., certifies that the accompanying book, harbinger, is one of 2000 books signed and numbered by jim shooter. these books were delivered to the writer by national comic services, ltd., where they were signed and numbered. these books are offered exclusively by national comic services, ltd. and are strictly limited to 2000 copies.
the accompanying book is numbered 853 of 2000."
i got this "back in the day" when i was working at a comic store here in town, so i know it's a legitimate thing.
i was just wondering if anyone else has any information on it.
the signature on the front has taken a beating, even in the hard plastic sleeve it came in. the price tag is still on it for $39.95 but i dont think i paid anything near that for it.
anyway...just thought i'd submit it to the expert panel.
thanks!

From what I understand (and people can correct me if I am wrong) lots of companies had special signed, limited editions of the Harbinger TPB. Some of them even resealed the book after singing, so it looked like it was direct from Valiant that way. However, most of them were signed at the compnay in question (not specifically authorized by Valiant) by the person (Shooter, Layton, etc). Thus, they aren't considered a Valiant variant, because it wasn't put out by Valiant. It would be the same as going to any comic book signing at an authorized retailer, getting a comic book signed and with it you usually get a COA.
