I am not sure if this is a rude question or not, but what did this cost you? Was it already painted? I have seen the picture of the one that isnt painted and I can definately say that if I had one I would pay soemone to paint it. That has to be the most beautifull thing I have ever seen...
If you ever make a cast of it I would be interested for sure!!!!

Please, please, please scan the VALIANT Continuity Bible in and let those who haven't read it have a chance. If that's too time consuming or Greg can't host it, please let me know the exact cost of having it copied and mai lto Zip Code 17013 and I will cut you a check for a copy (you can even write it on the bottom of all of the pages). I just want to READ it. THanks!

Wow Steve, that statue is stunning. I guess I am like everyone else and would like to get a look at the bible. You know, you may be able to charge admission for people to read that, it is not often a fan gets to see the behind the curtain workings of a comic universe like that, enjoy your purchase, Mark

I decided before against making copies. I just didn't think it would be fair to the owners of the orginals. Regardless if it is a copy or not, producing extras will affect the value of the orginal. It would have cost 15 each to make copies unbound. If someone else wants to make them and sell them that is their choice. I still feel it would have been better to scan and post it or if making copies to have "copy" stamped on each page. Othewise down the road you will not know if it is a copy or not.cinlach wrote:oooohhh...how might a fella get a hold of a copy of VanHook's bible?

My post was in no way intended to make you sound like anything. It wasn't directed at you at all. It was in responce to someone asking how to get copies of the one from Kevin. Now you are now attacking me, for no reason other than to justify your making copies that would be of better "QUALITY" than any "cheesy" copy I could have made. That is a totally false asumption. I never asked for a copy. Kevin set it to me without me knowing because of a problem with buying a Solar page. He and CKB came to agreeable terms. That is between them.Steve G. wrote:You & several others all had a chance to scan your copies for us to read. So where are the scans? Did I miss them somewhere?x-omatic wrote:

I don't care if my original copy is 'devalued'. I never plan on selling it so I don't care. VanHook said CKB could send his copy back if he thought his original was 'devalued' by him making copies for YOU, & a couple of others.
Did CKB send it back to Kevin for a refund? No.
Did you destroy your copy because it 'devalued' CKB's? No.
So what's your problem??
BTW, you might have made cheesy copies for $15 each, but I spent more to create a QUALITY copy. Don't *SQUEE* about what I have to charge to break even. You make me sound like a rip-off artist, & I don't appreciate it at all. Just be glad Kevin made you a copy, & let's leave it at that.---Steve G
You know you have issues with trusting others. Stop throwing stones.

SG: YA FOOLED ME!! YOU PUT DOWN THE PRICE I HAVE TO CHARGE FOR A COPY IN MY OWN THREAD. THAT'S LIKE *SQUEE* DOWN MY BACK & TELLING ME IT'S RAINING. SORRY I DON'T LIVE IN A LARGE CITY LIKE YOU, WHERE YOU CAN GET THINGS DONE CHEAPER.
X-O:"Now you are now attacking me, for no reason other than to justify your making copies that would be of better "QUALITY" than any "cheesy" copy I could have made. That is a totally false asumption."
SG: LOOK AT YOUR POSTS, CHRIS... YOU HAVE BEEN TAKING POT-SHOTS AT ME ABOUT BULLS**T LEGAL ISSUES SINCE I FIRST ADMITTED TO WINNING THE BIBLE FROM BOB.
X-O: "I never asked for a copy. Kevin set it to me without me knowing because of a problem with buying a Solar page."
SG: VANHOOK SENT IT TO YOU WITHOUT YOU KNOWING....YEAH, RIGHT!
X-O: "He and CKB came to agreeable terms. That is between them."
SG: CKB & I ALSO CAME TO AGREEABLE TERMS. SO WHAT'S YOUR PROBLEM?
X-O: "You know you have issues with trusting others. Stop throwing stones."
SG: TRUSTING OTHERS??? IF YOU MEAN THE X-O 1/2 DEAL, YOU'RE WAY OUT OF LINE, DUDE. SORRY TO HAVE 'BOTHERED' YOU WITH IT.
YA KNOW, CHRIS, WE HAD A GOOD TRADE WHEN WE FIRST MET HERE, & EVER SINCE I GOT BOB'S BIBLE, I HAVEN'T HEARD MUCH ELSE BUT WHINING & BI*CHING FROM YOU.
YOU THREW THE FIRST 'SELF-RIGHTEOUS' STONE. NOT A WISE IDEA WHEN YOU LIVE IN A GLASSHOUSE...
I'M OUTTA HERE!

I sure hope Steve calms down. Please calm down Steve, it's not that big of a deal. X-O feels there are legal issues, you don't, just let it roll. If he thinks you are profiteering, well, you know what you are doing - you have to live with yourself.
Just to add some clarity: KVH did indeed offer to buy it back when I protested about the duplication. I was already spending about $2K with KVH, and it was tempting. Instead, KVH wrote me a signed letter authenticating the Bible as his. If I had paid more (I think I paid about half of what Steve paid for Bob's), I would have taken him up on it.
While I agree with X-O about the devaluation in sending out copies, I do not oppose having the content online. I would have done it myself if it wasn't such a huge project. It seems quite likely it will be done now.
While I am not crazy about the 33 duplicated copies floating around now, it's completely out of my control. Steve is free to do as wishes - and at his own peril - it was his $300 that bought the thing. I have no hard feelings.
The bible is an excellent summary of the VU. I had created a document very similar to in back in the day, which is now lost. FYI.

This is true as well, and I appreciate it. I did about the same thing when it was revealed that Steve had won Bob's. I don't think I was as direct. I got the impression it was inevitable from trading emails with Steve. What am I gonna do, jump up and down on my chair and scream bloody hell?I had been emailed and politly asked not to sell copies. I honored that request.

I know of a board member who started scanning this over a year ago. He has forwarded me PDF's of the stuff as well as others. There really is no sense in anyone getting too *SQUEE**d off about this. We all value things differently. Since it is not scanned (if it was scanned would that change things), why not share it within our community. (There are already photocopied ones out there, whats 25 more that are indicated as number "whatever" out of 25 as steve is doing)
