SDCC 09: Blackest Night Invades Comic-Con
DC Direct reveals exclusive figure set for blockbuster summer storyline.
by Richard George
June 12, 2009 - Green Lantern fans listen up - DC is going to be offering a very limited item this July at the 2009 San Diego Comic-Con. For the first time, fans will be able to collect Hal Jordan not only as a Green Lantern, but as a member of the Red, Orange, Blue and Yellow Corps as well. Interested? We thought you might be. Read on for the details, including which colors will be available on which days.
The most important details are these: you can only get these items during the San Diego Comic-Con and supplies are extremely limited. Fans will be able to line up at the Graphitti Designs booth (#2315) for these rare collectibles starting on Wednesday, July 22. But here's the catch - you'll have to visit the booth each and every day for the latest color. Each customer can only buy 2 of each figure.
Here's the breakdown of availability:
Wednesday (Preview Night) - July 22 - 6:00 pm Hal Jordan: Green Lantern - 3,000 pieces available
Thursday, July 23 - 10:00 am
Hal Jordan: Yellow Lantern - 1,500 pieces available
Friday, July 24 - 10:00 am
Hal Jordan: Blue Lantern - 1,500 pieces available
Saturday, July 25 - 10:00 am
Hal Jordan: Orange Lantern - 1,500 pieces available
Sunday, July 26 - 10:00 am
Hal Jordan: Red Lantern - 1,500 pieces available
Each figure comes with its own lantern and a wearable power ring customized to each Corps. Each figure is available starting its respective day, and will continue to be on sale until it is sold out. As of press time, pricing information was unavailable. Each figure comes in its own four-color box. Be sure to check out the photos in this article for a better glimpse of each Hal Jordan figure.
Happy hunting, Green Lantern fans. And enjoy your convention travels.
The 2009 San Diego Comic-Con takes place from Wednesday, July 22 through Sunday, July 26. Stay tuned to IGN.com during that time for all the latest information from the show including movies, television and, of course, comics.

If anyone is still looking for tickets to comic con, Stan Sakai posted this on the usagi dojo boards.

give it a tryThe Con has been selling 1 and 4 day passes on eBay at regular prices. Last Friday was the deadline for cancellations, so these may be passes from those who cannot go and wanted refunds.
The passes are offered through twitter and sold on eBay:
http://twitter.com/Comic_Con
Paying $85 for a 4-day pass is a lot better than $400 through one of those eBay sharks. Also, you'll know you're buying a legitimate pass. Last year some passes were sold multiple times on eBay, so unfortunate buyers were not admitted into the con.

Don't they usually have the programming schedule out by now?

Wonder if Shooter will finally make that "announcement" he's supposed to have been making for the last five years, lol.wrunow wrote:I have been told Shooter will be there, we'll see though.Crow331 wrote:So which artists/inkers/colorists from the old Valiant days will be at the San Diego Con this year? I'm not going this year, but I know someone who is going who needs a place to stay. If someone has room, let me know, and I'll put you in touch with him. You can work out the rate, etc.
He already has a 4-day pass. The last couple of years, he worked some shifts at Mile High, and he helped run a comic store part-time for 5 years.
(So he has some odd but cool comic book stuff in his collection.)

I am unable to attend SDCC and was wondering if anyone who is will do me the utmost favour of picking up a couple of issue of HOUSE OF THE GUN promo comic which should have its debut sometime during the con.
HOUSE OF THE GUN is written by Charles Beaumont and features art from from Gene Colan, David Gutierrez, Joe Rubinstein, Tony DeZuniga and Sanjulian. The story is based in Iraq and is published by, ironically, 762 Entertainment.
PM me if you can...Thanks in advance

No, they are just accepting submissions. They will not have the machinery to do that on site.tarheelmarine wrote:A question for the CGC guys. I have a Hard Corps Comic Defense Version that is labeled incorrectly. I know CGC is attending the convention, but are they capable of printing the correct label at Comic-Con?
