I didn't realize that was him. I didn't see any issues with his posts.

I think he was only around a little while when I first joined before he was kicked out so I don't really remember having a problem with his posts.

MoTA gets so wrapped up in his own view of things to the point where everyone else is so off base he can't stand it...

probably good if he only reads and doesn't post...

I just re-read a bit of his last bunch of posts when he went off the handle and called everyone stupid. He's a smart dude with good ideas, but he'll never work in the comic industry because he can't accept anyone else's ideas. And who has time to listen to a broken record anyway?

Yes, actually. A very interesting one today.
Valiant
We have an update for the many artists out there who have been asking about submitting portfolios to Valiant! Due to the HUGE uptick in submissions we've seen over the past few weeks, we have now set up a new account specifically to handle artwork - submissions@valiantentertainment.com!

You may not receive a response straightaway, but everyone's work will be reviewed. Please also note that we are NOT accepting story ideas or writers pitches at this time.

We look forward to seeing what you've got!
It's interesting that they aren't taking writers pitches. Either they have people in place, they are looking for only established writers, they aren't ready to write yet, or they don't want to deal with the legality of some dude submitting a story that's similarly close to what they plan to do.

Maybe they already have the stories in place.

Not good to take in pitches, thats how u get sued for stealing ideas. They gotta do this strictly with whoever they hire to create the storylines.

Yeah, that's what I figured. I guess that's why most upstart writers start at Image or Vertigo - pitching their own stuff. And also why Marvel and DC often go with writers in other mediums.

It's hard to steal art. Stories on the other hand... If you can prove that a story was submitted - and email is easy to prove - then a story is similar... You can have a right to the profits - claiming a story idea was stolen.

If a writer is under contract (and most are), then that person is already being paid for the job. Therefore, all 'future compensation' or ownership is null and void.

Valiant has been posting on Facebook and Twitter about preparing for something special at NYCC. Anyone know if they have a booth?

I'm confident I read they will not have a booth but all will be there. No idea about announcements or anything, just that they would be attending.

Heard they would be attending but they were never on the Exhibitor List.

Judging from their facebook and twitter posts it looks like they are mostly just shopping around and pointing out Valiant finds.

They never hide that they didn't have a booth at NYCC. They said they were attending, that's ALL.

Have an awesome All Hallow's Eve everyone! And, as of tomorrow, you can begin expecting news on Valiant's return sooner rather than later! We think you'll be very, very pleased with what we have in store!
