Another month and my opinion about VEI remains unchanged.
They have had more than enough time to get comic books out there, as DH have proven with their upcoming GK books.
Do we know any of the following as publicly disseminated information:
- Bill Jemas' precise role with VEI?
- the names of any writers and/or artists attached to work for VEI?
- the name of VEI's Editor in Chief?
- the current relationship between Walter Black and VEI?
In all little is known. Still some have the faith, and more power to them. I don't have any faith in VEI at this point, simply because they have done nothing to instil faith except through rumours and whispers. Nothing new there in the past 18 months, then.
VEI dead or dying? Still dying that very drawn out death as far as I can see.

Now that is a comic book event if ever there should be one, maybe VEI's first!slym2none wrote:Some might call it a prolonged "death rattle"...

First there was Unity...then the Chaos effect...then Birthquake!
Now...there is the Death Rattle!

It is time for the April post - hey, if nothing I am trying to be a man of my word on this promise!
I took a quick visit to the good 'ol VEI site as I do before posting on my monthly basis, and still nothing new. Not that I expected anything new, but I think I need to be diligent if I am to criticise them. And I can see no reason right now, except for the faintest shred of hope and scant residual goodwill, not to criticise their approach to the VALIANT properties.
The website in many wasy sums up the problem of VEI for me:
- it hasn't been updated in a long time (the front page leads with the Ratner story from August 2008 - they haven't even thought to put something else in there?)
- little factual information available, especially about where they are headed
- it doesn't reflect any real intetnion to publish comic books (or pamphlets if they prefer)
So an open plea to VEI: please either do something soon or get out of the game as quickly as possible. You have had a chance, and you seem to have blown that in as many ways as possible, so barring actually publishing anything, ever, what is there for you to do?
