Are all of your slabs stored on their sides, Greg? Is it better than storing them upright?greg wrote:They're not on that side of the storage unit.nycjadie wrote:13K books? Are the slabs in there as well? I want to see the slabs!

Only when storing on large masses like the earth with a large gravitational pull. I've narrowed Greg's secondary storage location (where he keeps the good stuff) to either the dark side of the moon or the international space station.GGSAE wrote:Are all of your slabs stored on their sides, Greg? You dont want to stack too high though or you might have issues. So far I havent had issues with 20-35 high but i can tell it it putting a lot of pressure on the bottom slabs from when I've tried to remove one. I find it best then to remove most of the upper first, then pull out the slab with no more than 5 or 6 above it.

Agreed. I have cracked a few slabs by trying to take them out of the bottom of a stack that was too large. I prefer them stored lying flat because the weight of the comic is spread across the back cover. When they are stored upright, the weight of the comic might be snug inside the holder, but if it's loose inside or if the cover sticks to the inner holder then the weight of the pages might be pulling on the staples. I would think that storing them sideways, spine down would also be good... but the shelves that I have would waste a lot of space if I put them on their sides.Aram wrote:You dont want to stack too high though or you might have issues. This is the kind of value added stuff I try to do when I'm selling parts of my collection whereby it is representative of something that I might have some knowledge authority or recognition for. Great value addition here Greg. I've got some similar ideas for value addition regarding my Iron Man collection that I've been kicking around for years too. I'm glad to see how you are doing this.
