For the old stuff, paperbacks would be better. It's hard to justify spending $100 (retail price) on a poorly scanned A&A omnibus when you can buy the whole run of the original series for probably $30 or less.

A&A Classic Omnibus
I thought I would add to this thread. I recently bought the Quantum and Woody classic omnibus and have been totally impressed. Very beautiful book. Thick matte paper, beautiful scans, great hot foil stamping on cover. Overall from a recreation standpoint this is a 5/5. This is the best I have personally seen from VEI.

Pull List: I only buy TPB's, HC's and Hellboy comics
