mrwoogieman wrote:C'mon! Was showing just the back cover to Geomancer #1 really fair?
Oh yeah, I forgot to tell you guys...
Any double-spread covers will only have the "left half"...
So Geomancer 1, Shadowman 0, Bloodshot 0, etc., will only
have the left half. That's because I'm doing an html trick to make
the tiles appear and disappear, so I don't have any control over
"which half" of the cover image appears. It always starts from the left.

Thanks for volunteering to be the guinea pig on that one. :applause: :D

The last few tries came up blank :? And not Solar #10 blank. Just white, no image.

hmmm...i know this one...i think it's a bloodshot book....um...

dudes! i got 8 on my first try! those psi-lords got me-because all those covers seem the same to me...i don't pay attention to those covers!

i goofed and guessed bloodshot 2 for #3. I knew that one-just didn't think long enough.

i am amazed at how well i can guess some of these-i guessed ninjak 24 right, and i don't remember ever seeing that book!

i think there should be an option that you can just guess the title first to narrow things done somehow...i like the one tile at a time idea too...

Very cool. Someone posted a link to a site before that made covers into puzzles. That was really fun too.

That might be interesting. It would be pretty powerful, so perhaps cost 2 points to remove just one tile or something.

That would be powerful because it would mean that I have to keep track
of 126 tiles and your personal preferences for their removal... :!:
So, I'm thinking it would cost about $2 per game. :thumb:
Or maybe I should just keep the game like it is... and free. :P

But seriously though, I will probably get around to making that enhancement
sometime... because it does sound like a fun way to play the game.
But first, I need to think about how to code it... hmmm...
(This would probably be easier if I didn't write every webpage in Notepad.) :|

I remember back when I first started doing webpages, I would write the html code in wordperfect or something. Time consumming, but a great way to really learn html code (unlike now, when I just use frontpage or something)

that's probably because until recently all the wysiwig editors really blew chunks...
Why waste time learning, when ignorance is instantaneous?

When I wrote my first webpage, I don't think they had WYSIWYG editors. It was about 1994 or 1995.

front page may have been in its infancy...I coded my first pages in 95 and I know the district I was in had some version of frontpage (or homepage) or whatever it was called...the code it used was so bad, whenever anyone who used it sent me pages I would litterally open the page in notebook and have to hand strip all of the crap out of it...it was almost easier for me to completely recode the page by hand... :P

ok...so I used the -25 pt button and got through 20 covers here is what I noticed (yes I cheated and used the cover library on some of them)

I got my first repeat cover on my 13th cover (happened to be Turok 13 as well)

I had Solar 7 twice between my 14th cover and 19th cover...not back to back but really close...

the picture for Shadowman 0 only shows the back cover (because it was a wrap-around, greg has a larger picture for the regular issue)

very cool stuff though... :thumb:

One alteration to the above...any tile removable, EXCEPT the logo box which contains the issue number, natch!

Yep, I already have a rule that the Top Left Corner
cannot be uncovered in the game unless you use
the "I give up!" option. I'd probably keep those 6 tiles locked.

I thought the game is awesome Greg, but it seemed kinda harsh to cost 200 points to give up. You give up twice, your pretty much done. I only wish to have ways to continue playing, like if you get the cover right, you actually get some points back! With careful strategic playing, you might play awhile. The way it is now, your spending whether your right or wrong and even if your doing good, your score is going down.

But honestly, the game is AWESOME!!! Very Fun!!! :thumb:
