At the WonderCon yesterday, I asked Scott Allie (DH editor) about the Occultist and he said that the covers for the next 3 issues are already done so there will be more the Occultist.

I fail to understand the confusion over The Occultist here and at other boards (such as Dark-Key). I initially posted that it was part of the Dark Horse/Gold Key Heroes line, and then I initially posted that I was working with the artist on the series and that a 3 issue mini series was forthcoming. Not sure where the confusion is coming from or why it needs further clarification. :)

I don't think there's confusion. I think the fact the covers for the next 3 issues are done is new news. Sorry if you or someone else posted it elsewhere.

The fact that the Occultist seems to be moving forward gives me hope that this "Universe" such as it is may stick around a while. We have all seen the sales numbers and the lack of consistency in the release schedule, these things have made me wonder if the line could survive. I thought the Occultist was a good addition, I like the line being about more than just the Gold Key characters, though I hope Shooter will eventually be able to create his own original characters for the line.

Iggy,

You've read my posts about this in the past along with others and you post as tho those posts were never made and like this is new news. No matter to me as I know that what I post is factual. Just don't act like you never saw what I posted or that you or others need to confirm it as fact. It's petty and an insult to me personally.

And if I'm off base here why would you post this (so there will be more the Occultist).

I think you're off base, just something lost in the intent of the message. It's not that I don't trust your info or your sources, that's so far off from why I posted.

I am just excited about meeting Scott Allie and am excited to see that the covers are done! That means more DK issues in the future which is something we all like.

Nah, I'm not off base Iggy. When you say, "so there will be more the Occultist", that's like saying it is a revelation. No Matter.

From artist Victor Drujiniu,

Hey George,

Thanks for confirming having received the cover! And thank you for following my work on The Occultist. In which case you'll be probably pleased to know that I am starting work on the miniseries tomorrow - just got the first issue's script in earlier this evening. It's going to be a 3 issues miniseries, following up the events from the one-shot. Can't wait to get to work on it!

Great work with the lettering btw. It's the first time I am given the chance to see the letterer's work :)

Best,
Victor

Can we now put to rest that The Occultist is going forward as I said?

I'm sure Iggy didn't mean anything by posting the info, he's one of the nicest posters on here. I'd already forgotten the Occultist was continuing myself.

George you seem like a cool dude but you tend to jump the gun when it comes to given credit on a message board. Iggy was just letting us know the covers are done and this re-affirmed to him that the books are on the way, He seemed excited about it. I don't see how you can take that as him discrediting you in anway. We appreciate your info, that's for sure but mellow out man, we're all just fans sharing our prospectives & insights.

I don't care about getting credit for anything (including The Occultist) to be quite honest. It just bothered me that after posting that the book was part of the Dark Horse Comics/Gold Key Heroes line and that I additionally let everyone know that there was a 3 issue mini coming, certain individuals kept asking if it was part of the line and would there be any more books in the series. Kind of frustrating to see that when you've already put the info out there. Chill everyone as it is not a big deal. :)

Have you had a chance to read that yet? I haven't too many choices at the mo. Made my way through R.E.B.E.L.S. (awesome) and now on my way through JSA All Stars (entertaining but not amazing).

Funny. I've only just started finding, and went over to the shop. Found it and a variant cover in back, too. Nice that nobody was looking around here. :hm:
