The Golden Age-IIRC this was the first team Elseworlds book. James Robinson did a great job of showing the JSA's final days dealing with McCarthy type witch-hunts of the 1950s, with solid art by Paul Smith (I think).

Kingdom Come-Arguably the best Elseworlds done, one Waid's best stories and Ross' best art to date.

JLA: The Seven-The JLA meets The Seven Samuri.

Batman: The Good, The Grey, and The Bat- Batman as a cowboy and Robin as his Native American sidekick. Does that sound familiar? One of the better Batman Elseworlds his origin story works better here than in some of the other ones where it felt stupid and forced.

JLA: The Nail-Alan Davis does a great job showing a DCU where the Kents got a nail in their truck's tire on the night they were destined to find baby Kal-El and thus never rasied him to be Superman. The reveal of who rasied Kal-El and the true mastermind villain at the end, is worth the price of it alone.

JLA: Another Nail-This one feels like an excuse for Davis to draw the rest of the DCU that he couldn't get into the first one. If your a fan of Alan Davis' art then you should get a kick out of it, otherwise you're not missing much.

Superman: Speeding Bullets-Superman's first Elseworlds story shows Superman being raised by the Waynes and when they die he goes into hiding due to his not being able to control his powers once he learns to control them he becomes Batman, and must battle Lex Luthor who is the Joker and save Lois Lane who works for The Gotham Gazette. The blurring of the Superman and Batman mythos make this one hard to follow and it's ending is weak. If you find it on sale then buy it other than it being as I mentioned above, Superman's first Elseworlds story, just skip it.

Actually, these are called JLA: The Nail, not Superman: The Nail. I just don't want him to get confused if he decides to get them.

It was considered the best Elseworlds before Kingdom Come came out. I think it's defently in the top 3.

D'OH! My mistake then DC did so many of these Elseworlds I bought and read just about all of them (except for a few later ones and most of the annuals) they tend to blur together after a while.
