My favorite cover is X-O 5. Followed very closely by Magnus 1.
You're embarassed to admit Ninjak?

You want embarassment? While it's true that A&A 1 got me into Valiant proper, the first comic I bought that put Valiant into my conciousness way back in the day was the Valiant Vision Starter Kit. I was totally a sucker for the marketing...lol.

To add to my previous post, X-O started the whole thing for me but what really cemented my enthusiasm was probably A&A #0 and Eternal Warrior #1—it was awesome to pick up new titles from the get go. And then there was Unity...

A & A #0 it had story content and art that you didn't see out of other comics of the day.

For sure. When I read it totally changed my concept on what comic books were.

I have to ask...is your handle name an homage to "Iron Maiden?" I was just listening to the "Seventh Son of a Seventh Son" album yesterday, in fact.

The thing that actually attracted me to the Valiant Universe was my initial exposure to Valiant characters used in a story. I was exposed to and read about several Valiant characters through Wizard magazines I had bought, but my first actual experience of a story with Valiant characters was Deathmate.

I know, I know. Deathmate is the story that everyone loves to hate around here, and while it doesn't even dream to compare to the quality of Valiant at it's height, I actually found (and still find) the premise interesting, and it got me interested enough to start picking up whatever Valiant stuff I could break into.

It could have been much better, I’ve found the Valiant issues to be fairly decent though.
